Usage Notes: Week 3

By Mike Krueger | Updated: 9/20/25

Each week, I’ll look at snaps, usage, touches, target shares and pull out the highlights you need to know from each game.

- All games will be available Monday evening each week.

Buffalo

Offensive Snaps: 60

RB James Cook: 40 snaps (66.7%), 70.4% rush share, 11.1% tgt share
RB Ty Johnson: 15 snaps (25.0%), 11.1% rush share, 7.4% tgt share
RB Ray Davis: 4 snaps (6.7%), 0.0% rush share, 3.7% tgt share

WR Keon Coleman: 45 snaps (75.0%), 14.8% tgt share
WR Khalil Shakir: 42 snaps (70.0%), 14.8% tgt share
WR Josh Palmer: 26 snaps (43.3%), 3.7% tgt share
WR Elijah Moore: 14 snaps (23.3%), 11.1% tgt share
WR Tyrell Shavers: 12 snaps (20.0%), 7.4% tgt share

TE Dalton Kincaid: 33 snaps (55.0%), 22.2% tgt share
TE Dawson Knox: 32 snaps (53.3%), 0.0% tgt share
TE Jackson Hawes: 26 snaps (43.3%), 3.7% tgt share

Need to know: We expected less rushing from Josh Allen (4-25-0) due to his broken nose and that’s what we got. Cook has at least 18 touches in each game this season – averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Three-man rotation at TE, which isn’t great, but Kincaid (5-66-1) had saw all but 1 TE target.

Miami

Offensive Snaps: 61

RB De'Von Achane: 47 snaps (77.0%), 48.0% rush share, 27.3% tgt share
RB Ollie Gordon II: 15 snaps (24.6%), 36.0% rush share, 0.0% tgt share

WR Tyreek Hill: 53 snaps (86.9%), 30.3% tgt share
WR Jaylen Waddle: 53 snaps (86.9%), 18.2% tgt share
WR Malik Washington: 33 snaps (54.1%), 15.2% tgt share
WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: 15 snaps (24.6%), 0.0% tgt share

TE Julian Hill: 34 snaps (55.7%), 3.0% tgt share
TE Tanner Conner: 26 snaps (42.6%), 6.1% tgt share

Need to know: TE Darren Waller was inactive but might be back in Week 4. RB Jaylen Wright was active but didn’t get a snap. Decent usage for Gordon (9-38-1) who’s used in short-yardage and some goaline situations but doesn’t offer much in the passing game. Hill, Achane and Waddle combined for 75.7% of the targets.
