Bhayshul Tuten began 2025 in a crowded backfield alongside Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby. With Etienne now in New Orleans and Bigsby in Philadelphia, Tuten has an opportunity to carve out a significant role in 2026. His rookie usage was modest -- 83 carries for 307 rushing yards and 10 receptions for 79 receiving yards -- but his seven total touchdowns showed he has a nose for the end zone. More importantly, the departures of Etienne and Bigsby leave behind 260 carries that have to go somewhere.
Tuten enters 2026 with Liam Coen saying he expects him to "have a big year," and he's certainly positioned to do so. The depth chart competition is thin, with Chris Rodriguez Jr. serving as the primary backup, and Jacksonville ignored the running back position in the draft. There are still some concerns, however. First, Tuten's physical profile doesn't scream bell-cow back. Jacksonville's offense also isn't overflowing with explosive complementary talent, which could cap his fantasy ceiling. And Rodriguez's familiarity with Coen from their college days shouldn't be overlooked. That comfort level could earn Rodriguez additional opportunities if Tuten struggles early. FFToday's Take: It's a good sign for Rodriguez that he didn't begin camp on the PUP list, but he'll be limited to individual work and hopefully ramp up to team drills in the coming days. He'll be fighting for touches in the Jaguars backfield this season along with Bhayshul Tuten with Tuten currently being the preferred fantasy option.

FFToday's Take: One of the many discussion points for fantasy analysts this pre-season will be the usage for Rodriguez and Bhayshul Tuten. Rodriguez hasn't been on the practice field during OTAs and now we know why. The exact nature of his foot injury hasn't been released but this will keep Tuten in the driver seat for now until we get a better on handle on Rodriguez's true health during training camp.
