Jerry Jones driving the Tony Pollard hype train
Cowboys owner thinks Pollard can carry the load?
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Aug 11, 9:15 am

Dallas Cowboys
Jerry Jones: "I certainly thought he had a good account of himself. He looks confident out there, we know he's inordinately understanding of what he does and can do. We've seen him do it, we know he's capable of, if he really needs to, carrying whole load." (David Helman on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Cowboys are negotiating with holdout Ezekiel Elliott so it's not surprising Jones would talk up his running backs in the media. Tony Pollard never had a big workload in college so it's easy to dismiss Jones' ramblings as fluff. However, Pollard would have some fantasy appeal if Zeke's holdout extends into the regular season so he's worth consideration in the later rounds of your draft.

Ezekiel Elliott threatening to skip camp
Wants progress made on a contract extension
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jul 15, 7:20 pm

Dallas Cowboys
Chargers running back Melvin Gordon isn’t being coy about his intent to hold out until he gets a new deal. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott apparently is, at least for now. Per a league source, Elliott has privately said that he will hold out of training camp unless he gets a new contract. (Pro Football Talk - Mike Florio)

FFToday's Take: Yahoo's Charles Robinson reports Zeke hasn't made a decision about whether to hold out of camp yet or not, but he definitely wants an extension "in the works." Elliott has two years left on his rookie deal and is actually making a smart play considering he will probably have nearly 800 more touches on his odometer if he waits until the end of his contract to get paid. He is unlikely to miss any regular-season games, but Tony Pollard and Mike Weber will likely split touches if he does.
