|Similar to Pierce, rookie Josh Downs also isn't the most proficient route runner. However, they are opposite when it comes to size, separation and change of direction. The 5-foot-9 wide receiver recorded 295 receptions for 2,364 yards and 19 touchdowns during his final two seasons at the University of North Carolina.
Downs gets inside leverage as a slot receiver quite often and has a large catch radius despite his size. He isn't necessarily a burner, but is still fast and changes direction on cuts very efficiently.
Downs and Isaiah McKenzie are battling for the starting slot receiver job, so it's currently uncertain how much time he'll spend on the gridiron every Sunday. Should Downs get the nod, he should finish the season as a top-80 receiver, but he won't be selected in most redraft leagues.
| Josh Downs active for Week 10|
Missed practice all week

|Patriots’ WR Demario Douglas and Colts’ WR Josh Downs - both listed as questionable for today’s game in Germany - both are active today. (Adam Schefter on X)|
FFToday's Take: Downs missed practice all week with a knee issue but is active for Week 10 against the Patriots. It sounds he could be limited which throws a wet blanket on his fantasy value. He's a Flex consideration for deep leagues only.
| Anthony Richardson likely to miss a month?|
Potential Grade 3 AC joint sprain
By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 9, 3:30 pm
|Sources: #Colts starting QB Anthony Richardson received an initial diagnosis of a Grade 3 AC joint sprain, which would mean he’d miss a month or more. He has an MRI this morning to confirm.
Either way, it’s likely Gardner Minshew next week and moving forward. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)|
FFToday's Take: This was always the danger is putting faith into Richardson, who is an athletic marvel and built to last but a bit too reckless with his body at this point of his career. If the diagnosis ends up being confirmed, he will almost certainly land on IR and miss at least four games. Minshew, who has already been named the starter for Week 6 versus the Jags, is a more than capable veteran who will ensure Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs remain solid fantasy starts most weeks.
