Gadsden entered last year as a little-known, fifth-round pick out of Syracuse. He became the darling of fantasy football for a time in October when he went on a four-game run with 24 receptions, 377 yards, and 2 TDs. Things cooled considerably after that, and over his remaining eight games he'd top the 50-yard mark just once, but he became someone defenses had to be aware of.
He heads into Year 2 in a bit of an odd spot. On one hand, his 664 yards receiving were fourth-most on the team, and we're only one season removed from Jonnu Smith posting an 88-884-8 line in McDaniel's system. On the other, the Bolts signed David Njoku, who has over 4,000 yards receiving in his NFL career -- he is doubtless on the downside of his career, but he's still a considerable step up as a receiver from Tyler Conklin and Will Dissly, who worked with Gadsden in 2025. Gadsden would make an ideal TE2 to go with a reliable TE1 as he could emerge as a potential trade chip.
