George Kittle unlikely to play, Ricky Pearsall in Ankle injury for Kittle By: Mike Krueger | Sun Dec 28, 9:01 am

| | 49ers TE George Kittle, listed as questionable for Sunday night due to a sprained ankle that prevented him from practicing last week, is “highly unlikely” to play vs. the Bears, per source. 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall, listed as questionable for Sunday night due to knee and ankle injuries, is likely to play, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The 49ers will have one of their two best receiving options on the field this week against the Bears, but it appears Kittle will be sitting this one out. TE Jake Tonges can be an emergency fill-in for those playing in a fantasy championship this week. Jauan Jennings may benefit the most from Kittle's absence.

| Kittle, Pearsall listed as Questionable for Week 17 Kittle missed practice all week By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 26, 5:29 pm

| | 49ers are listing TE George Kittle and WR Ricky Pearsall as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Bears. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Kittle missed practice all week with an ankle injury and is going to be very hard to trust even if he's active for Sunday Night Football. If he sits, Jake Tonges would likely see an increased role and be a TE2 consideration. Pearsall was limited all week with a knee, ankle issue which caused him to miss Week 16. He'll be a risky fantasy play as well given his snaps might be limited.

| George Kittle diagnosed with minor ankle sprain TE likely day-to-day ahead of Week 17 By: Doug Orth | Tue Dec 23, 11:30 pm

| | 49ers tight end George Kittle is dealing with a “mid-to-low ankle sprain,” per source. Kittle said after the game he believed he avoided a high ankle and that is the case. (ESPN - Jeremy Fowler)
FFToday's Take: Kittle was rolling to the tune of seven receptions for 115 yards and one TD in just over a half of action on Monday night before pulling up on a route without being contacted. It doesn't help his cause that he will have one less day to heal up than he normally would, but it sounds like he at least has a chance to suit up in an important game (for NFC seeding purposes) versus the Bears. Adding Jake Tonges off waivers this week is a recommended move for any Kittle manager, as he has already proven he can serve as a fantasy TE1 when needed.

| George Kittle likely to return in Week 7 Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 3, 3:08 pm

| | 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters that TE George Kittle, who has been on IR due to a hamstring injury, is more likely to return in Week 7 vs. Atlanta than next week in Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay. A return for next Sunday is considered a “long shot.” (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Kittle injured his hamstring in Week 1 and has missed every game since. In his absence, Jake Tonges has been working as the receiving tight end for the 49ers and has has scored in back-to-back games. Kittle should move right into the top tier at the position once he returns. The 49ers have a bye in Week 14.
