| Brock Bowers Questionable, expected to play Monday night Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Sep 13 2025, 4:00 pm

Raiders officially are listing TE Brock Bowers as questionable for Monday night. Raiders HC Pete Carroll said TE Brock Bowers (knee) practiced today, “looked terrific”, and is expected to play Monday night versus the Chargers. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Bowers missed practice Thursday and Friday and now gets the Questionable tag for Monday night. Carroll is not typically a reliable source when it comes to player availability, so I'd suggest stashing Michael Mayer if you're planning on playing Bowers Monday night against the Chargers.

| Dallas Goedert ruled Out for Week 2, knee injury Grant Calcaterra expected to get the start By: Mike Krueger | Sep 12 2025, 3:48 pm

#Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the #Chiefs. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: RB Will Shipley (oblique) is also Out. Goedert never practiced this week which isn't great for his Week 3 status. Grant Calcaterra is expected to get the start in Goedert's absence. Calcaterra has never scored double-digit fantasy points with or without Goedert in the lineup. Expect the passing offense to concentrate on A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

| Broken collarbone for Jayden Reed Expected to miss a big chunk of the season By: Mike Krueger | Sep 11 2025, 11:55 pm

Jayden Reed is going to miss "a lot of time," LaFleur says. He suffered a broken collarbone. "It's a big blow to us. He's a guy that's a catalyst to our offense and the football team." (Bill Huber on X)
FFToday's Take: Reed's injury occurred the first quarter and will likely sideline him for roughly six weeks but we'll need further confirmation from the team. The Packers have their bye in Week 5. The top three receivers after Reed left the game were Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden and Dontayvion Wicks however Green Bay has shown that it's willing to play a five-receiver rotation making it difficult for fantasy owners to get ceiling games from any one wideout.

| Torn Achilles likely for Austin Ekeler Will have tests on Friday to confirm By: Mike Krueger | Sep 11 2025, 11:24 pm

Sources: Commanders believe veteran RB Austin Ekeler did in fact tear his Achilles during Thursday night’s loss at Green Bay. Ekeler still needs to undergo imaging that is scheduled Friday for confirmation. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Bad news for Ekeler who went down with a non-contact injury against the Packers on Thursday night. He was carted to the locker room and left the stadium in a boot and crutches. With Ekeler's season likely over, the Commanders will turn to Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Jeremy McNichols and likely Chris Rodriguez Jr. who's been Inactive the first two weeks.

| Brock Bowers misses practice Thursday Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Sep 11 2025, 4:47 pm

#Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee) and LB Elandon Roberts (elbow) are not practicing. They are observing the stretch period without a helmet.
Injury report will come out later this afternoon. (Ryan McFadden on X)
FFToday's Take: Bowers banged up his knee which resulted in limited reps in Week 1. The Raiders play Monday night so a missed practice on Thursday in this case isn't cause for alarm. We should get a better feel for his Week 2 availability on Friday and Saturday. Michael Mayer is a potential bench stash for anyone wanting to play Bowers Monday night.

| Brock Purdy a long shot to play in Week 2 Toe and Shoulder injuries By: Mike Krueger | Sep 10 2025, 5:33 pm

Brock Purdy is dealing with toe and left shoulder injuries that happened in the second quarter of Sunday's win against the Seattle Seahawks. Coach Kyle Shanahan has indicated that the toe is the bigger concern and said Wednesday that it's unlikely Purdy will play against the Saints.
"I think it's a long shot," Shanahan said. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: After being one of the most injured teams in the league last season, the 49ers are picking up right where they left off. TE George Kittle has already been placed on IR and now it appears Mac Jones will get the call in relief of Purdy against the Saints. Shanahan is hopeful WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) will be able to play. The matchup isn't a difficult one but a low-end QB2 seems like the median outcome for Jones in Week 2.

| George Kittle placed on injured reserve Hamstring injury to sideline TE until at least Week 6 By: Doug Orth | Sep 9 2025, 11:30 pm

Sources: 49ers are placing Pro Bowl TE George Kittle on injured reserve, meaning he now will miss at least the next four games. Kittle injured his hamstring during Sunday’s win over Seattle and now will miss games at New Orleans, vs. Atlanta, Jacksonville and at the Rams. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: The 49ers did not need any more bad injury news, but they got it. With Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and Kittle sidelined until at least October and Brock Purdy (finger, shoulder) as well as Jauan Jennings (shoulder) very questionable for Week 2, San Francisco could be down to Christian McCaffrey and Ricky Pearsall as the only notable playmakers against the Saints. Luke Farrell and Jake Tonges will likely split snaps at tight end in Kittle's absence, but neither is worth considering in fantasy.

| Drake London nursing right shoulder injury Considered day-to-day after leaving late in Week 1 By: Doug Orth | Sep 8 2025, 11:50 pm

#Falcons WR Drake London suffered a shoulder sprain and is considered day-to-day as of now, source said. He’ll have more tests, but initial good news on Atlanta’s star who was ruled out earlier today. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Some initial speculation suggests he is dealing with an AC joint sprain. Fantasy managers should probably expect London to miss at least one game, although it seems to be minor enough to keep the door open for him against the Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Week 2. The Falcons are up against it in terms of injuries at receiver, as Darnell Mooney (shoulder) missed the opener. There is a possibility Atlanta goes into Minnesota with Kyle Pitts, KhaDarel Hodge and Ray-Ray McClooud as Michael Penix Jr's top three pass-catchers (outside of Bijan Robinson).

| Brock Bowers dealing with minor knee injury Left Week 1 late and did not return By: Doug Orth | Sep 8 2025, 11:20 pm

TE Brock Bowers, who exited Sunday's game with a knee injury and didn't return, is considered day to day, per Carroll. (Around the NFL)
FFToday's Take: Pete Carroll was notorious for downplaying injuries during his time with the Seahawks, so fantasy managers are advised to track the practice reports this week to see if this is one of the times the coach is telling the truth. Michael Mayer finished strong in his absence in the opener and would be a top-15 option at his position if Bowers needs a week to return from this injury.
| George Kittle likely to miss multiple games Suffered hamstring injury early in opener By: Doug Orth | Sep 8 2025, 11:10 pm

49ers Pro Bowl TE George Kittle is expected to be sidelined multiple weeks with a hamstring injury. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: Kittle logged only 21 snaps but was targeted on four of the 14 pass plays he was on the field against the Seahawks, which speaks to how big of a day he could have had. He still managed four catches for 25 yards and a touchdown. Brock Purdy appears to be in some doubt for Week 2 after suffering (and playing through) a toe and left shoulder injury in Week 1, while Jauan Jennings is in a similar boat after he hurt his shoulder. Fantasy managers should expect Christian McCaffrey and Ricky Pearsall to handle most of the work in the passing game until Kittle returns.
| Darnell Mooney Inactive for Week 1 Shoulder injury By: Mike Krueger | Sep 7 2025, 11:31 am

Falcons WR Darnell Mooney is inactive today. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Mooney has been nursing a shoulder injury during camp so it's no surprise that he's going to miss this week. He did warm up before the game so it seems like he's close to returning to action... perhaps in Week 2? Drake London should see a 30 percent target share today against the Bucs.
| Christian McCaffrey expected to play Week 1 "Good to go" By: Mike Krueger | Sep 7 2025, 11:08 am

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey, who was added to the injury report Thursday with a calf issue, will play today vs. the Seahawks. “He’s good to go,” said one source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It's reasonable for fantasy owners to be skittish about McCaffrey given his injury history over the last year and half. It seems like he's going to play today, the big question is how much? Our expectation is he will be close to normal usage, with maybe a couple extra carries given to backup Brian Robinson Jr. Pay attention to inactives in the late window as the 49ers and Seahawks play at 4:05 pm Eastern.
| Christian McCaffrey misses practice Friday, Questionable Calf injury occurred Thursday By: Mike Krueger | Sep 5 2025, 5:07 pm

Christian McCaffrey did not practice today. Kyle Shanahan said he's not sure if McCaffrey will test the calf Saturday. Their opener against Seattle is on Sunday, just three days after the injury -- however minor it might be -- occurred. Some decisions coming in the next 48 hours. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: After being healthy the entire preseason, McCaffrey popped up on the injury report Thursday as being limited with a calf injury. He's now trending in the wrong direction for Week 1. Brian Robinson Jr. and Isaac Guerendo would be the main running backs if McCaffrey isn't able to go against Seattle. We'll surely have more updates on this situation over the next two days.

| Darren Waller unlikely to play Week 1 Strained hip By: Mike Krueger | Sep 5 2025, 11:38 am

Dolphins TE Darren Waller had a surprise setback before practice this week suffering a hip strain, and he’s unlikely to play Sunday vs. Colts, HC Mike McDaniel tells reporters.
Waller’s Miami debut out of retirement will have to wait. (Cameron Wolfe on X)
FFToday's Take: Waller missed all of 2024 in retirement and spent most of training camp on the PUP list. Safe to say he's way down the ranks for fantasy tight ends at the moment. Being absent this week will leave the Dolphins with Julian Hill and Tanner Conner at tight end. Neither are recommended fantasy plays against the Colts.
| Christian Kirk out Week 1 with hamstring injury One-to-two-week injury By: Mike Krueger | Sep 4 2025, 4:17 pm

Texans WR Christian Kirk has a strained hamstring that is expected to sideline him for at least Sunday’s opener vs. the Rams and possibly longer, per sources. One source estimated it to be a two-week injury for Kirk, but the Texans will be “cautious” with him. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Kirk was projected to be the starting slot receiver for the Texans but that role will likely be spread between Xavier Hutchinson and rookie Jaylin Noel with Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins working on the outside. It's looking like a one or two-week injury for Kirk.
| Full practice Wednesday for WR Khalil Shakir Ankle injury By: Mike Krueger | Sep 3 2025, 4:06 pm

#Bills WR Khalil Shakir, who suffered a high ankle sprain in practice a month ago, was listed as full participant today on the season's initial injury report. WR Keon Coleman (groin) was limited. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Shakir has been nursing a high-ankle sprain since August 1st. If he's active Week 1 against the Ravens it won't be a surprise if he's limited in some fashion as sprains of this severity have a tendency to linger much longer than a month. He can penciled in as a flex option for now.
| Full practice for Najee Harris on Wednesday How much will he play Week 1? By: Mike Krueger | Sep 3 2025, 3:54 pm

Jim Harbaugh says he expects Najee Harris to play Friday. Said Najee feels ready and he’ll “have at it.” He said they’ll monitor Harris’ workload as the game unfolds. (Omar Ruiz on X)
FFToday's Take: It sounds like Najee is going to be active for Week 1 against the Chiefs after missing all of training camp after a 4th of July fireworks incident. How much he plays this week is anybody's guess at this point. As a result, he's not a recommended fantasy play unless we get more info closer to game time.

| WR Jalen Coker out 4-6 weeks, quad injury Panthers bring back Hunter Renfrow By: Mike Krueger | Aug 30 2025, 11:50 am

Panthers are re-signing WR Hunter Renfrow to their active roster, per sources. Renfrow played at Clemson, and now will get to play at Carolina.
In a corresponding move, Carolina WR Jalen Coker is being placed on IR due to a quad injury. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The day after the Panthers traded Adam Thielen to Minnesota, Coker injured his quad and has been placed on IR with a return designation. This is the same quad that caused him to miss three games in 2024. Renfrow is now inline to get the call in the slot in three wideout sets to begin the season.

| Chargers take Najee Harris off NFI list RB reportedly has a chance to play in Week 1 By: Doug Orth | Aug 26 2025, 11:40 pm

Sources: The #Chargers have activated RB Najee Harris (eye) off the NFI list, making him eligible to play as early as Week 1 vs the #Chiefs in Brazil. (Jordan Schultz)
FFToday's Take: About the only people who have a good idea about how this might play out are the Chargers' coaching and medical staff. The last time that Harris did anything of note on a football field was June. Making matters even worse, there is no way to know for sure how much of an effect the eye injury will have on Harris' ability to see the whole and/or his peripheral vision. As uneasy a feeling as it is, Omarion Hampton still very much deserves to be drafted in the third round of most 12-team drafts.

| Brandon Aiyuk lands on PUP WR working his way back from major knee injury By: Doug Orth | Aug 26 2025, 11:20 pm

49ers placed WR Brandon Aiyuk on the Physically Unable to Perform List. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: This has been expected for some time. Aiyuk will miss at least the first four games of the season and possibly more. It is also important that did more than just suffer a clean tear of the ACL. As a result, he could struggle to be the receiver that many remember him being before the injury even after he returns. Fantasy managers are still advised to take him late in drafts and stash him for as long as possible, especially in leagues that allow Aiyuk to sit on IR.

| Tampa Bay gets good news on two players Chris Godwin (ankle), Tristan Wirfs (knee) pass physicals By: Doug Orth | Aug 26 2025, 11:10 pm

Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin and OT Tristan Wirfs both passed their physicals today. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: While this is great news in theory because both players will avoid short-term IR, Godwin and Wirfs both need to get into "football shape," as HC Todd Bowles told the team's website. While Wirfs should be fine as soon as his knee feels fine following arthroscopic knee surgery last month, Godwin is about 10 months removed from his injury and hasn't done any football activity over that time. In short, while Godwin might be able to return to the field in Week 4, there should be legitimate doubt in fantasy managers' minds if they see the pre-injury version of him at any point this season.

| Isaiah Likely avoids IR TE still recovering from late July foot injury By: Doug Orth | Aug 26 2025, 11:00 pm

Ravens did not place TE Isaiah Likely on injured reserve, which means he’s eligible to play in Baltimore’s first four games. Likely suffered a small fracture in his foot in late July and has yet to return to practice. (ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley)
FFToday's Take: This news is unlikely to matter much in Week 1, but Likely is the rare "backup" tight end who is a surefire TE1 if/when Mark Andrews misses time. Unfortunately for Likely, he is almost certain to need some ramp-up time before he can contribute in fantasy. He's still worth a stash late in drafts, especially for managers who invested a pick in Andrews.
| Joe Mixon headed to NFI list RB to miss at least first four games with ankle issue By: Doug Orth | Aug 26 2025, 9:30 pm

Texans are not activating RB Joe Mixon by Tuesday’s 4 pm ET deadline, making him ineligible to play at least the first four games this season due to an ankle injury.
Mixon will be moved to Reserve/Non-Football Injury, which automatically rules him out for at least four games. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: By all accounts, Mixon did not participate in OTAs or has not practiced at all since the team reported to training camp. At this point, it would be shocking if he is ready to practice - much less play - by Week 5. Fantasy managers should not expect Mixon to contribute in a meaningful way until at least Week 8 - especially considering he has likely done little more than take mental reps in new OC Nick Caley's offense. Nick Chubb and Dameon Pierce - assuming the latter is not cut on Tuesday - is expected to handle most of the early-down work, while rookie Woody Marks should take most of the work in the passing game.

| Tyjae Spears lands on IR, high ankle sprain Injured in first pre-season game By: Mike Krueger | Aug 26 2025, 11:04 am

Sources: Titans RB Tyjae Spears, who suffered a high ankle sprain earlier this month and was spotted in a walking boot this weekend, is being placed on injured reserve, meaning he will sidelined at least the first four games of the season. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Spears injured his ankle in Tennessee's first pre-season game and will now miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season. Tony Pollard is likely to see a heavy workload while Spears is out and given the lack of the depth they have at the position, it wouldn't be a surprise for Tennessee to add a running back over the next couple of days.
| Jauan Jennings could be put on IR WR dealing with calf injury and contract unhappiness By: Doug Orth | Aug 25 2025, 2:00 pm

Jauan Jennings' lingering calf injury and long contractual stalemate with the 49ers could combine to send him to the injured reserve list this week, multiple NFL sources indicated over the past few days.
Putting on Jennings on IR -- which would sideline him for at least the first four games of the regular season -- would hurt Jennings financially by severely reducing his chances at triggering incentives and game bonuses and also would leave the 49ers dangerously thin at wide receiver at the start of the season.
The mentioning of IR by the 49ers ... could be a tacit threat to the Jennings camp to try to get him back on the practice field in time to be ready for Week 1. (The San Francisco Standard)
FFToday's Take: Fantasy managers should expect Jennings' calf injury to miraculously heal over the next week, although all the time that he has missed will probably result in HC Kyle Shanahan's early-season game plans focusing mostly on Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall in the passing game. Continue to draft Jennings as a WR4 in fantasy.

| Jaydon Blue picks up sprained ankle in final pre-season game Ready for Week 1? By: Mike Krueger | Aug 24 2025, 10:30 am

#Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue suffered a low ankle sprain in Friday's preseason finale, per source. The rookie is hopeful to be ready for Week 1. (Jeremy Fowler on X)
FFToday's Take: It sounds like he avoided the dreadful high ankle sprain but Week 1 is no guarantee at this time. Given he played in the final preseason game, it appears he's behind Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders currently on the Cowboys depth chart. However, he's still worthy of a late-round flier in deep leagues given the overall weakness of the Cowboys RB room.

| Najee Harris ready for Week 1? Yet to do anything meaningful on the practice field By: Mike Krueger | Aug 23 2025, 11:50 pm

Los Angeles Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz said Saturday night that he is hopeful running back Najee Harris will play Week 1. "Najee's doing great, going through all the medical processes," Hortiz said. "But he's on track, and I think he should be able to go, hopefully in Week 1."
Harris has been on the non-football injury/illness list for all of training camp after a July 4 fireworks mishap. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: Harris returned to practice on August 12th but hasn't done much of anything expect work on the side with the training staff. He's a veteran, but it's hard to imagine him being ready Week 1 with so little time on the practice field with a new team. Given the lack of concrete news on his situation, all options remain on the table at this point including him landing on IR start the season or being active against the Chiefs in Week 1.

| Chris Godwin unlikely to play until October Will avoid PUP list to start the season By: Mike Krueger | Aug 21 2025, 9:04 am

Sources: Buccaneers plan to activate WR Chris Godwin off the Physically Unable to Perform list and have him on their 53-man roster to start the season, but only to begin his ramp-up process for games, not to immediately play in them. Godwin still is unlikely to play until October as he continues recovering from the fractured ankle he suffered in Week 7 vs. the Ravens last season. He is expected to start practicing in Week 2, but the team thinks he is right where he should be at this time and is pleased with his recovery. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Good to an update on the Godwin situation. Week 5 against the Seahawks seems like the game to target for his return. How long it takes him to get up to full speed will be a different story. In the meantime, expect rookie Emeka Egbuka to occupy a starting spot opposite Mike Evans. Egbuka's ADP (WR37, half-PPR) will continue to rise as we get set for a big draft weekend.
| Jalen McMillan likely to miss half of the season Suffered "severely sprained neck" in Week 2 preseason game By: Doug Orth | Aug 19 2025, 3:20 pm

Jalen McMillan will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a “severely sprained neck,” against the Steelers and could be out past the Bucs Week 9 bye week, the Times has learned. Team still feels fortunate the injury wasn’t worse and have depth at WR starting with Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka. Chris Godwin will eventually return from a dislocated ankle. But tough news for McMillan. (Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud)
FFToday's Take: As bad as this news is, McMillan was inches away from suffering a much worse injury. With Chris Godwin (ankle) still not practicing, the path is clear for Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka to carry the bulk of the passing game through at least September. While McMillan's absence may free up another receiver to contribute (Sterling Shepard?), expect Cade Otton to see a few more targets than he would have received otherwise.

| Justin Jefferson expected to return to practice soon Minor hamstring has sidelined star WR lately By: Doug Orth | Aug 18 2025, 9:40 pm

Justin Jefferson will begin to take part in practice this week, according to comments made by HC Kevin O'Connell.
"He will begin to take part in practice. It will kind of a ramp-up ... but he will officially be back to work and be ramping up from here," O'Connell told reporters on Aug. 18. (Vikings.com)
FFToday's Take: The Vikings are understandably taking their time with Jefferson. Not only is he critical to the team's success, but he will be needed more than usual with Jordan Addison set to begin the season with a three-game suspension and Jalen Nailor considered week-to-week with a hand injury. Jefferson typically goes off the board in drafts within the first six picks and should be considered a huge value if he slips much past that.
| De'Von Achane nursing a calf injury Absence from practice considered "preventative" By: Doug Orth | Aug 18 2025, 9:30 pm

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Dolphins RB De'Von Achane is dealing with a calf injury and likely will not practice this week
McDaniel said this is "preventative in nature" especially because of how explosive of an athlete Achane is. (ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques)
FFToday's Take: Fantasy managers should be wary of soft-tissue injuries at this point of the preseason. While this issue sounds minor, even the most minor calf injuries tend to take a while to heal completely. No one should be overly surprised if Achane misses some time during the regular season due to an aggravation. For now, managers should proactively consider Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon a bit earlier in drafts.
| MarShawn Lloyd expected to miss some time Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Aug 17 2025, 2:07 pm

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Omar Brown (lung) is showing a lot of improvement but is staying overnight again in Indy and could come home tomorrow.
Meanwhile, MarShawn Lloyd is “going to miss some time” with a hamstring injury.
Same with Barryn Sorrell (knee). (Rob Demovsky on X)
FFToday's Take: Lloyd was injured in the Packers second pre-season game and it doesn't sound like he's going to be back at practice anytime soon. He only played in one game last season before suffering an ankle injury in Week 2 that knocked him out for the remainder of the season. At this point, Emanuel Wilson is the swing you want to take late in the drafts for contingent upside if you're targeting Green Bay running backs.

| Malik Nabers dealing with "minor" back problem Hasn't practiced in 11 days By: Mike Krueger | Aug 17 2025, 1:58 pm

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers hasn't practiced in 11 days after dealing with what multiple sources told ESPN was a minor back problem. One source characterized it as "normal camp tightness."
Nabers was held out of Saturday night's 31-12 win over the New York Jets. He has missed each of the Giants' first two preseason games. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: A few days missed during camp isn't typically a big deal but Nabers has missed enough time that it warrants attention. The Giants, along with most of the league, aren't quick to hand out details about their injured players especially at this time of the season when injury reports aren't required. It wouldn't be a shock if Nabers missed the final Giants pre-season game next week.

| Brandon Aiyuk likely to return in early October Shanahan: WR is "on track" to return around Week 6 By: Doug Orth | Aug 12 2025, 10:10 pm

Kyle Shanahan said all of the 49ers' ACL guys - including Brandon Aiyuk - are on track to be back around Week 6, he said. He said there's a range of weeks that Aiyuk could actually be back in a game, but that's the rough estimate at this point. (The Athletic - Matt Barrows)
FFToday's Take: This suggests that Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall will each have a nice runway for the first half of the season if they can get healthy in time for Week 1. Given how uncertain Aiyuk's return date sounds, there is a world Jennings and Pearsall can operate as clear starters for at least half of the season. Outside of the receivers, Aiyuk's absence figures to boost the floors of Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.

| Jordan Love going under the knife Packers QB expected to return in a few days By: Doug Orth | Aug 12 2025, 10:00 pm

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said QB Jordan Love is undergoing a procedure on his left thumb. It’s a ligament issue. That’s why he had it taped yesterday in practice. Said the hope is for Love to return to practice next week. (ESPN - Rob Demovsky)
FFToday's Take: It appears to be a minor issue. Fantasy managers would be wise to monitor his practice participation next week, although the good news is that the injury is to his non-throwing hand. Until further notice, continue to draft Love as a high-end QB2.
| Tyjae Spears suffers sprained ankle Preseason Week 1 By: Mike Krueger | Aug 9 2025, 11:45 pm

#Titans RB Tyjae Spears' initial injury diagnosis is a high ankle sprain per sources. (Turron Davenport on X)
FFToday's Take: We still need more information on Spears' injury but this isn't great news. Depending on the severity, Spears could be in danger of missing Week 1 which would leave Tony Pollard closer to a workhorse role. Spears dealt with ankle and hamstring injuries last season, playing in just 12 games.

| Jayden Reed dealing with sprained foot Spotted in a walking boot By: Mike Krueger | Aug 9 2025, 11:29 pm

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said he is hopeful that WR Jayden Reed will be ready for Week 1. Reed is dealing with a sprained foot that one source described as leaving him “day to day.” (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Reed did not play in the Packers pre-season Week 1 game Saturday against the Jets. LaFleur didn't describe the injury specifically so there's no real timetable for his return. The Packers have a number of options at the position including Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden and Dontayvion Wicks who can handle receiving duties if Reed isn't ready for Week 1.

| Bills optimistic Khalil Shakir will be ready for Week 1 Ankle injury By: Mike Krueger | Aug 7 2025, 9:07 am

Bills HC Sean McDermott said he’s being told as of now that WR Khalil Shakir should be on pace to return for the start of the season.
Shakir is dealing with a high ankle sprain. (Joe Buscaglia on X)
FFToday's Take: High ankle sprains can linger so even if Shakir is ready for Week 1, it doesn't mean he's going to be near 100 percent. However, it does sound like the Bills will have their top wideout in some capacity to start the season. Shakir went down in practice on 8/3. His value is currently hovering around WR44 in half-PPR leagues.

| Emeka Egbuka the talk of training camp QB and GM thrilled with rookie's readiness By: Doug Orth | Aug 4 2025, 5:00 pm

The Bucs surprised many when they used the No. 19 pick in April to select WR Emeka Egbuka. They'd just re-signed Chris Godwin to a three-year contract, they still have veteran Mike Evans playing well and their 2024 third-round pick, Jalen McMillan, caught seven touchdown passes in their final five games of the season. Some wondered if the Egbuka pick meant they were worried about Godwin's recovery from his season-ending ankle injury. But again, they just gave Godwin a three-year deal, so they couldn't be that worried. My takeaway from my time in Tampa is that the Egbuka pick wasn't about Godwin as much as it's about Evans, who turns 32 later this month and has reached the point of his career when he's deciding year-to-year how long he wants to continue. It was also about the need for depth at that position. But more than anything, it was about Egbuka, who is the talk of training camp. (ESPN.com - Dan Graziano)
FFToday's Take: Graziano goes on to say that while the Bucs aren't counting out Godwin for Week 1, they believe there's a chance he could miss a couple of games at the start of the season. He also expects Egbuka to be a big part of things for whatever time Godwin is out, and maybe even once he's back. Godwin appears to be a total wild card at this point, if only because he will need some time to ramp up and become a full-time player, and that's only if he doesn't have a setback. Egbuka is not a player fantasy managers should feel obligated to reach for (at least not yet), but he should be going much higher than his current Round 9-10 ADP.

| Khalil Shakir week-to-week with high ankle sprain Bills top wideout will be held out of camp By: Mike Krueger | Aug 3 2025, 10:39 am

Bills WR Khalil Shakir is week to week with a high ankle sprain (Joe Buscaglia on X)
FFToday's Take: Shakir missed a week (5) last season with an ankle injury as well. This version is likely to keep him out most if not all of training camp. Shakir led the Bills last season in receptions (76) and yards (821) in 15 games played. This injury will ding his fantasy value and lower his ADP which currently sits at WR44, 86th overall in Half-PPR leagues.
