Game Preview
Mike Krueger

Predicted Score: Broncos 20, Chargers 17

Denver: The Broncos have lost their last two games and may lose even more. Travis Henry could be facing a one-year suspension for a repeat violation of the substance abuse policy. His status for this week's game against the Chargers is already in doubt due to ankle and knee injuries. Selvin Young ran well last week against the Colts and should do fine behind the Denver O-line which has paved the way for three 100-yd rushing games for Henry. WR Javon Walker is also day-to-day with swelling in his knee forcing Brandon Stokley into the starting lineup. Note: The Broncos have their bye next week so don't be surprised if Henry and Walker sit giving them an extra week to heal. In Henry's case, he might have more than week to recover from his ailments if this initial report of suspension is true.

  • Start: WR Brandon Marshall, RB Selvin Young
  • Consider: QB Jay Cutler, WR Brandon Stokley, K Jason Elam
  • Sit: RB Travis Henry (inj) WR Javon Walker, TE Tony Scheffler, TE Daniel Graham

San Diego: The Chargers have fallen on hard times after getting worked over in the second half by Dwayne Bowe and the Kansas City Chiefs. LaDainian Tomlinson looked like the Tomlinson of old rushing for over 100 yards in first half but defensive adjustments by the Chiefs in the second half were never countered. No doubt Norv Turner is feeling the heat off to a 1-3 start and facing another tough division opponent in the Denver Broncos. Philip Rivers has done his part, adding the to the Chargers misery by committing nine turnovers - six interceptions and three fumbles. You want more bad news? Since 1971, the Chargers are 6-30 in Denver. Case closed.

  • Start: RB LaDainian Tomlinson, TE Antonio Gates
  • Consider: QB Philip Rivers, WR Vincent Jackson
  • Sit: WR Craig Davis, WR Malcom Floyd, Chargers D/ST
