Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

Game Preview
Mike Krueger

Predicted Score: Saints 21, Panthers 10

New Orleans: How quickly the mighty fall. The Saints have given up a league high 34 points per game while Drew Brees finds himself ranked 27th among fantasy quarterbacks. Luckily for the Saints, the Panthers have hit rock bottom too. Somebody has to win this battle of the ineptitude. Adding injury to insult, the New Orleans will be without Deuce McAllister (knee) for the balance of season, which means an increased workload for Reggie Bush with Aaron Stecker playing a backup role.

  • Start: RB Reggie Bush
  • Consider: WR Marques Colston, TE Eric Johnson, QB Drew Brees
  • Sit: WR Devery Henderson, TE Mark Campbell, K Olindo Mare, RB Deuce McAllister

Panthers: DT Kris Jenkins called out his teammates this week saying the Panthers had "no heart" following a 20-7 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He may be right. Carolina looked like a JV team last week with David Carr at the helm. Again, adding injury to insult, QB Jake Delhomme, who sat out with a strained right elbow will likely miss this week's game as he hopes a rigorous rehabilitation program will allow him to avoid season ending surgery. A players-only meeting was held Wednesday… I doubt it will make much difference until Delhomme returns. Steve Smith has six catches for 42 yards and no touchdowns in his last two games.

  • Start: WR Steve Smith,
  • Consider: RB DeShaun Foster
  • Sit: QB Jake Delhomme (inj), WR Keary Colbert, WR Dwayne Jarrett, TE Jeff King, RB DeAngelo Williams, WR Drew Carter
