Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers

Game Preview
Antonio D'Arcangelis

Predicted Score: Seahawks 27, Panthers 10

Seattle: These Seattle Seahawks look like a new team, although they've clearly got a better mojo through the air than on the ground. While I can't advocate benching Shaun Alexander against an average Panthers run defense, I'd look for better options - something you've probably already done. Matt Hasselbeck is playing at a Pro Bowl level and his receivers are among the most consistent in football - posting solid fantasy numbers just about every week.

  • Start: QB Matt Hasselbeck, WR Deion Branch, WR Bobby Engram, K Josh Brown
  • Consider: RB Shaun Alexander, WR Nate Burleson, Seahawks D/ST
  • Sit: TE Marcus Pollard

Carolina: Remember before the season when everybody was getting excited about DeAngelo Williams and David Carr's new home on a team with capable wideouts like the sensational Steve Smith? As I look outside at the white-out conditions in Albany, New York, I can't help but hearken back to the optimism of those steamy August afternoons. They seem like an entire lifetime ago. Why did DeAngelo not show up? What happened to Smith and Carr - who was a can't-miss prospect for the Texans way back when? Does this team not even deserve Vinny Testaverde to grace them with his geriatric presence? Regardless of the answers, I wouldn't be drafting (or starting) any Panthers offensive players until wholesale changes are made in Carolina. But I guess if you've been riding DeShaun Foster to average performances week after week, you might as well get one more feckless start out of him.

  • Start: RB DeShaun Foster
  • Consider: WR Steve Smith
  • Sit: RB DeAngelo Williams, WR Keary Colbert (inj), WR Dwayne Jarrett (inj), WR Drew Carter, TE Jeff King
