Tennessee Titans at Denver Broncos

Game Preview
Mike Krueger

Predicted Score: Broncos 17, Titans 14

Denver: The Broncos are coming off a road victory against Kansas City and now return home to face the Titans on Monday night. Quarterback Jay Cutler has been mediocre at best this season and the running game has been inconsistent at best. Selvin Young did have a nice game against Kansas City last week and should continue to see playing time if and when Henry steps back on the field. It's been determined that Henry has a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) so check reports later in the week on his availability. Young may be in for another good game as it appears Titans' run stuffer Albert Haynesworth will remain sidelined with a hamstring injury and for that reason alone I'll give the nod to the Broncos, but if I were a betting man, and I'm not, I would stay away from this game as it's just too close to call.

  • Start: RB Selvin Young
  • Consider: WR Brandon Marshall, WR Brandon Stokley, K Jason Elam
  • Sit: RB Travis Henry, QB Jay Cutler, TE Tony Scheffler, WR Javon Walker, TE Daniel Graham

Tennessee: As I mentioned earlier, the loss of defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is critical for the Titans. With Haynesworth out, the Jaguars were able to rush for 166 yards the Titans… the biggest total they've given up all season. As a result, Vince Young was forced to throw the ball (41 times) and the Titans lost. That's not the Titans gameplan and if they get forced into a similar game with Denver this week, they'll once again find themselves on the losing end. The good news is LenDale White has practiced this week and should be able to exploit the worst run defense in the league with a little help from Chris Brown. Titans win if Young throws 25 times or less.

  • Start: RB LenDale White
  • Consider: Titans D/ST, QB Vince Young
  • Sit: TE Bo Scaife, RB Chris Brown, WR Brandon Jones, TE Ben Troupe, WR Roydell Williams, WR Eric Moulds
