The Dallas defense is the worst in the league at stopping opposing
quarterbacks, yielding 31.5 fantasy points per game. They don't
rush the quarterback well (Jerry did that) and they have forced
just one turnover. Jordan Love has been mediocre over the first
three games, but he's faced the Lions, Commanders and Browns.
He'll thrive in this one.
Justin Fields gets an extra day to recover from a Week 2 concussion,
but whether its Fields or Tyrod Taylor, this is a good spot. The
Dolphins are allowing 79% completion rate, are allowing two touchdown
passes per game and have yet to turn the ball over to their offense.
Taylor is a professional who can take advantage if he's
under center and Fields' only full game this season he produced
31.7 fantasy points.
The once great "Steel Curtain" is long gone and the Pittsburgh
defense ranks 30th in opposing QB points allowed. They are allowing
an average 26.8 fantasy points to Justin Fields, Sam Darnold and
Drake Maye. Wentz had an easy first start with the Vikings, (14-of-20
for 173 yards and two scores) in a 41-10 mauling of the Bengals.
I don't expect J.J. McCarthy to return for a couple more games.
Playing the team ranked No.1 in opposing QB points allowed is
not the best time to lose your elite All-Pro wide receiver. Dak
Prescott, without CeeDee Lamb, will likely center the offense
on running back Javonte Williams. He'll use a limited number
of deep Pickens throws, but mostly targeting tight end Jake Ferguson
(13-for 82 in Week 3).
An immobile quarterback facing the blitzing, sacking Vikings
is not a good formula for success. Minnesota blitzes 32.7% of
the time and have nine sacks in three games. Rodgers will only
be getting off quick, short passes which make it difficult to
accumulate big yardage totals.
This is a horrible spot to have your rookie quarterback make
the first start of his career. It would be much better if they
waited until Week 5 and face New Orleans. But here we are. Dart
was pretty good in preseason against vanilla defenses (32-of-47
for 372 yards, three touchdowns and zero picks. Also rushed for
52 yards and a score), but this is real and the Chargers are undefeated
and strong defensively (seven sacks, three interceptions).
