|Bears name Justin Fields their starting QB|
Nagy pivots on Dalton

|Justin Fields is the Bears’ starting quarterback, both Sunday and beyond.
Coach Matt Nagy made the announcement on Wednesday, saying Fields “has done everything to show us that he’s ready for this opportunity.”
Nagy said there is nothing, short of an injury to the rookie quarterback, that will send Fields back to the bench.
“This is Justin’s time,” he said. (Chicago Sun Times)|
FFToday's Take: Nagy had previously said that Andy Dalton would be the starter when healthy. I guess something changed. After getting demolished by the Browns in Week 3, Fields played reasonably well in Week 4 against the Lions despite and underwhelming stat line of 11-17, 209-0-1, 9 rush yds. He's yet to show enough running production to make him a QB1 consideration and the upcoming schedule isn't friendly. Consider him a middling QB2 moving forward.
| Justin Fields to start, Andy Dalton Doubtful|
Bears vs. Lions in Week 4

FFToday's Take: Fields turned in a horrendous performance (6-20, 68 yds; 3 carries, 12 yds) last week against the Browns in his first start as a pro. The Lions should be an easier defense to attack but it's going to be hard to trust the Chicago QB in fantasy given what we saw last week.
|Bears not sure who their Week 4 QB will be|
Fields, Foles, Dalton all in the mix

FFToday's Take: Nagy is searching for answers after the rookie's disastrous performance (6-20, 68 yds, 0 TDs; 3 car, 12 yds) against the Browns in Week 3. It's going to be tough for fantasy owners to feel comfortable starting Allen Robinson or Darnell Mooney even in a decent matchup against the Lions in Week 4.
| Justin Fields will start in Week 3|
Andy Dalton is the team's starting quarterback when healthy

FFToday's Take: Nagy went on to say the Dalton remains the team's starter when healthy. Nick Foles will be the backup in Week 3. Dalton is dealing with a knee injury that occurred in Week 2 that caused him to miss the entire second half. Fields is likely to be an enticing fantasy play given his rushing upside but his passing prowess remains a question mark. He's best viewed as a high-end QB2 with upside.
| Andy Dalton (knee) now listed as week-to-week|
Bears will tturn to Justin Fields in Week 3
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 21, 3:00 pm
|Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) on Twitter: "#Bears QB Andy Dalton is considered week-to-week with his knee injury. No final decision, but Justin Fields appears to be in line to make his first NFL start Sunday at Cleveland. Meanwhile, another rookie QB gets his first start Thursday night."
FFToday's Take: Justin Fields will take the reins in Week 3 against the Browns. It could be a bumpy road for the rookie, but he's the better long-term fantasy option and he needs his chance to show what he can do. He's not a recommended fantasy option in his first NFL start.
| Andy Dalton diagnosed with bone bruise|
Status uncertain for Week 3

FFToday's Take: Dalton's potential absence obviously clears the path for Justin Fields to start. HC Matt Nagy remains insistent that Dalton will start if he is healthy, but he will have a hard time putting the genie back in the bottle if Fields gives the offense a spark against the Browns. Fantasy managers are foaming at the mouth to get Fields on the field because he offers a skill set similar to Kyler Murray or a younger Russell Wilson. Fantasy managers should continue to hold onto the rookie or stash him anywhere he is available.
