The late signing of J.K. Dobbins has worked out beautifully for
both the player and team. His yards-per-carry has increased in
each game and he's scored in each game too. He's played so well,
highly regarded rookie RJ Harvey can't get on the field. Dobbins
ranks 13th in PPR scoring despite not being involved in the passing
game. The Bengals are ranked 31st against opposing RBs allowing
110 rushing ypg and one rushing touchdown per game.
I've been down on Ashton Jeanty so far this season, primarily
because he's running behind the worst run OL in the league.
This week, however, he could have a chance to run against the
Bears' rush defense who are allowing over 120 ypg on the
ground.
The Omarion Hampton the Chargers drafted showed up in Week 3,
combining for 129 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown.
In Week 4, he faces a Giants team which has allowed over 110 rushing
yards and four rushing touchdowns in three games. The Chargers
figure to be ahead in this one against a rookie QB making his
first start, so game script also should be in his favor and given
the season-ending injury to Najee Harris, Hampton should get close
to 100-percent of the workload.
The Browns are No.1 is rushing yards allowed through three games
(42.7) and No.2 in FPts/G (12.8). That's while facing the likes
of Chase Brown, Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs. The Lions' duo
is the best in the league, but this will be their sternest test.
Jahmyr Gibbs can score points two ways, but "Monty" is just a
classic runner. In most weeks, that's enough to be a viable fantasy
option, but not in this game.
It didn't take long for Cam Skattebo to become the guy
in the Giants running back room. Of course, it helped that Tyrone
Tracy Jr. injured his shoulder, but this change was inevitable.
However, Skattebo faces a strong Chargers run defense (ranked
fifth) which has allowed just one touchdown all season to opposing
backs. Additionally, the rookie QB making his first career start,
won't help keep linebackers from crowding the line of scrimmage.
The Chargers will make Jaxson Dart beat them, and not allow Skattebo
room to run.
3) All Washington RBs @ Atlanta
Since the season-ending injury to Austin Ekeler, the Commanders
backfield is in flux. Who among Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols will be the lead back? Last
weekend, it was Rodriguez with 11 attempts, but the other two
out-produced him. It's best to stay away until we have clarity.
Additionally, the Falcons' run defense has been top-10 this
season and has yet to allow a running back more than 73 yards.
