Usage Notes: Conference Championships

Each week, I’ll look at snaps, usage, touches, target shares and pull out the highlights you need to know from each game.

- All games will be available Monday afternoon each week.
- Snap shares are in parenthesis next to each player’s name.

Chiefs: 81

The trio of Isiah Pacheco (64.0%), Travis Kelce (80.2%) and Rashee Rice (88.9%) combined for 45 opportunities, while the rest of the team had 23. In other words, 66% of the Chiefs offense was run through their top three weapons.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (21.0%) had 3 touches for 4 yards.

The Chiefs tightened up their WR rotation with Rice, Marquez Valdes-Scantling (82.7%) and Justin Watson (44.4%) playing the most snaps. Rice had a 25.0% target share. Richie James (21.0%) was the fourth receiver. Mecole Hardman played just 1 snap on offense.

Travis Kelce had a 30.6% target share, catching all 11 for 116 yards and 1 TD.

The Ravens were stifled on offense and committed two costly turnovers. Given they were trailing the entire game, Justice Hill (67.2%) played more snaps than Gus Edwards (32.8%).

Zay Flowers (89.7%) had a 24.2% target share and finished with a 5-115-1, 2-4-0 line. Rashod Bateman (63.8%), Odell Beckham Jr. (58.6%), Nelson Agholor (56.9%) were non-factors.

TE Mark Andrews returned to action but was limited, playing just 31.0% of the snaps. Isaiah Likely (67.2%) had 3 targets, 2 catches and 16 yards.

Lions: 72
49ers: 66

The Lions got their running game going early with David Montgomery (43.1%) who finished with a 15-93-1, 2-20-0 line. Jahmyr Gibbs (54.2%) also found the endzone and totaled 56 yards.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (94.4%) had a 27.5% target share and finished with a 7-87-0 line. Jameson Williams (72.2%) had a big game, scoring twice, and likely elevated his 2024 ADP with this performance despite just a 7.5% target share. Josh Reynolds (91.7%) caught just one of four targets for 25 yards.

TE Sam LaPorta (87.5%) was off the injury report but wearing a brace on his knee. LaPorta had a 32.5% target share and finished with a 9-97-0 line.

Christian McCaffrey (90.9%) was in hid typical workhorse role, handling 24 touches for 132 yards and 2 TDs. Elijah Mitchell (9.1%) got a goaline TD. FB Kyle Juszczyk (60.6%) made some athletic plays and racked up 36 yards on 3 touches.

Brandon Aiyuk (84.8%) made a circus 51-yard catch on his way to a 3-68-1 line on 8 targets. Deebo Samuel (77.3%) came into the game with a shoulder issue but had a 30.0% target share and 11 touches.

TE George Kittle (97.0%) was in his typical role but had just a 10.0% target share.
