Depth Chart
After losing Sam Darnold, the Vikings were forced to put all their eggs in one basket when they made McCarthy the 2025 starter. Instead of a five-star omelet, everyone ended up with egg on their face as McCarthy was injured, or brutally dreadful for most of the season. Questionable leadership qualities, a distributing lack of touch and finesse in his passes, and turnover proclivity, all contributed to last season's disaster. He's been a bonafide winner in his pre-NFL career, but he's got quite an uphill battle to pass Murray on the depth chart. Even if he can manage to do that, he's waiver wire fodder at best.
