Coming off a year away from football, and with a great need at offensive line, some thought the Bengals made a mistake drafting Chase 6th overall last spring. After setting fire to the record books, and getting to the Super Bowl in Year 1, it's clear the Bengals made the right call. Chase dominated from the get-go, putting up a 5-101-1 line in his first game, and finding the endzone four times over the season's first three weeks. In Week 17 against the Chiefs, he put up one of the best receiving lines of all time, with 11 receptions, 266 yards and three touchdowns. The former LSU Tiger was a big play waiting to happen, scoring 13 touchdowns and averaging a gaudy 18.0 yards-per-reception. He was so good, that frankly, it's going to be extremely difficult to not only replicate, but also improve upon his rookie year numbers.
With Higgins and Boyd, there should be a continued split for target share, and it's hard to see Cinci passing enough for Chase to see many more than the 128 targets he saw last year. That ridiculous reception average is also a bet to take a dip, cutting further into his massive efficiency. Even with an anticipated regression, Chase's talent, and quarterback situation make him one of the first receivers off the board in all formats.

Ja'Marr Chase not expected to play in Week 12 Team hopes to have him back Week 13 By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 26, 3:22 pm

| | #Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase will not play against the Titans tomorrow, a source tells me. The hope is the team will have him back for next week’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. (Kelsey Conway on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Chase got in some limited practices and QB Joe Burrow expressed optimism earlier in the week suggesting Chase would play. Not the case. Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin have been working as the top three receivers while Chase has been out. Higgins and Boyd are both good options in Week 12,

| Joe Mixon Out, Ja'Marr Chase listed as Questionable Samaje Perine expected to start at RB By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 25, 12:46 pm

| | #Bengals coach Zac Taylor told reporters RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is out for Sunday vs. the #Titans, while WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) will be a game-time decision. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: With Mixon out, expect Samaje Perine to start and get the bulk of the running back duties against the Titans. Tennessee represents a negative matchup for running backs, allowing the 4th fewest fantasy points to the position making Perine more of a volume-based RB2. Chase seems to be on the right side of questionable with his hip injury. Whether or not he will be on a snap count is unclear.

| Ja'Marr Chase not close to return Hip injury; remains on crutches By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 14, 7:35 pm

| | FWIW, Ja'Marr Chase is still walking with crutches. Will try and get an update from Zac Taylor on a potential timeline for his return today. (Kelsey Conway on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Conway noted a few hours after this tweet that HC Zac Taylor did not offer an update on Chase's timeline. However, the fact he is still on crutches suggests he is going to miss at least two more games. Fantasy managers should expect Tee Higgins to continue to serve as a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 for as long as Chase is sidelined. Tyler Boyd should also serve as a solid low-end WR2/high-end WR3.
