For most receivers, a season in which they posted 103 receptions, 1,144 yards, and 8 TDs would be cause for celebration. Adams isn't most receivers. Arguably the NFL's preeminent route runner, the veteran was frustrated with his performance and that of the offense, particularly when Garoppolo was running the show. While the 1,144 yards did extend Adams' streak of 1,000-yard campaigns to four, it was probably his worst all-around effort since 2015 when he was in his second season -- he did post an 83-997-5 line in 2019, but he played in only 12 games due to injury.
Adams, who will turn 32 in December, is still capable of dominance. The question is whether O'Connell or Minshew can do their part to bring the future Hall-of-Famer's numbers back up, particularly in the red zone where Adams had scored double-digit touchdowns each of his previous seven seasons with the exception of the injury-shortened 2019 campaign mentioned above. A surefire top-three receiver for the past several years, the combination of Adams' age and questions about the quarterback play push him down to more of a low-end WR1 for this season.

Trade: Davante Adams headed to the N.Y. Jets
Raiders receive a conditional 3rd-round pick

FFToday's Take: Adams getting traded has been a likely scenario for the star wide receiver who's missed the last three games with a hamstring injury. Adams was reported to be interested in going to the Saints or Jets given his familiarity with both quarterbacks. This move is going to drag down the fantasy values of Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard who currently sits as the WR17 in half-PPR leagues. Mike Williams is completely off the fantasy radar. It remains to be seen if Adams will be ready to play in Week 7.
|  Jakobi Meyers downgraded to Doubtful
Ankle injury

FFToday's Take: The hits just keep on coming for the Raiders. Already down Davante Adams (hamstring), the Raiders are looking at Tre Tucker, D.J. Turner and Tyreik McAllister as their top three receivers for Week 6 against the Steelers. All three are not recommended fantasy options. Tucker could be used if you're desperate.

FFToday's Take: We can speculate on whether or not Adams has an injury, but regardless, he won't be on the field in Week 5. In his absence, Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker will have a difficult task against the Broncos defense that's given up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to wide receivers.

Star WR asks to be traded

FFToday's Take: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the asking price would be something in the neighborhood of the second-round draft pick and additional compensation. Adams' cap number is $25.35 million. While that number can be tweaked to a certain degree, it might make it difficult for cap-strapped teams like the Chiefs and Bills to do a deal. Unsurprisingly, one of the teams Adams would be open to going to is Aaron Rodgers' Jets. Considering how all-in the Jets are this year, New York may be the favorite for his services.

FFToday's Take: The hamstring injury strikes again. The Raiders will be without two of their best players against the Browns this week. Without Adams, TE Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers are likely to be the top passing game targets with extra snaps given to Tre Tucker and D.J. Turner. Meyers is a reasonable Flex or WR3 option this week.
