2021 Outlook
Depth Chart
Another season, another top-12 WR performance from DeAndre Hopkins in 2020. The former Texan shut up naysayers when he joined Buffalo's Stephon Diggs in smashing the age-old "receivers don't produce on new teams" argument. Hopkins completely shattered all expectations by finishing second in the league with 160 targets, which he converted for a career high-tying 115 receptions, 1,407 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

Hopkins is about as reliable as it gets at the wide receiver position and there's really no reason to be concerned about him heading into the 2021 season. He was targeted at least seven times in all but one game in 2020 and he saw double-digit targets in nine different games. While the Cardinals did bolster their wide receiver group, history has shown us that truly elite wide receivers like Hopkins tend to maintain their target shares even when their team adds more complementary weapons.

The fact that Hopkins only finished as the standard-scoring fantasy WR9 in 2020 is something that does bring worry to some fantasy owners, but it's worth considering that he did that while scoring just six touchdowns on 115 catches. There's some positive regression coming for Hopkins if he's able to see that many passes come his way again this season, so look for that total to be closer to 10 touchdowns.

The Cardinals also look like a good bet to increase their pass-to-run ratio which should only further fantasy owners' confidence in Hopkins, who looks like every bit of an elite fantasy option once again this season. Young receivers like D.K. Metcalf, Justin Jefferson, Calvin Ridley and A.J. Brown have been getting plenty of hype this offseason, but none of them possess the high floor and high upside combination that a player like Hopkins does. Don't sleep on him in your drafts just because you like the idea of a shiny, new toy.

Injury DeAndre Hopkins to miss the rest of the regular season
Knee injury
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 15, 3:21 pm

Arizona Cardinals
Cardinals’ WR DeAndre Hopkins is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a sprained knee, but the team is hopeful to get him back at some point in the postseason, leagues sources tell me and @JFowlerESPN. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This is a big blow to the Cardinals passing game. Hopkins is currently seeking a second opinion. In his absence Christian Kirk, A.J. Green and Rondale Moore will be Arizona's top three wide receivers with Kirk and Green gaining the most fantasy value.

Injury Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins expected to play
Barring a setback
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 2, 3:19 pm

Arizona Cardinals
From TNF First Look: The #AZCardinals are expected to have both QB Kyler Murray (ankle) and WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) on the field this Sunday, barring a setback, sources say. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Both guys are going to be difficult to trust, especially Hopkins who only has 35 receptions on the year, but has helped his fantasy output with 7 TDs. Murray will be a bit safer option but the Bears have been solid against fantasy QBs this season giving up the 9th fewest fantasy points.

Injury DeAndre Hopkins Out, Kyler Murray a gametime decision
Hopkins expected to play in Week 13
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 19, 1:01 pm

Arizona Cardinals
Kingsbury: - Kyler Murray a game-day decision. Has to be able to protect himself from re-injury. - Colt McCoy is “getting there” to be available. - DeAndre Hopkins is out. Expects him to play after the bye vs. Chicago. - Justin Pugh is out. Max Garcia has a chance to play. (Darren Urban on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Arizona has a bye in Week 12. That may factor into the decision on whether or not to start Murray against the Seahawks this week. Hopkins last played in Week 8. In his absence the Cardinals will roll with Christian Kirk, A.J. Green and Rondale Moore at receiver. They are only Flex considerations if we get another start from Colt McCoy.

Injury Murray, Hopkins trending in wrong direction
Gametime decisions
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 13, 11:00 pm

Arizona Cardinals
Three Cardinals - Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Rondale Moore - are questionable for Sunday. Moore is the most likely to play, Hopkins the least, and it doesn’t sound promising for Murray, per sources. Cards will make final decisions in pregame, but sounds like QB-WR inactive. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Cardinals play Carolina in the late-afternoon window so fantasy owners should plan to be without Murray (ankle) and Hopkins (hamstring) in Week 10. It's looking like Colt McCoy will get another start. Arizona has a bye in Week 12.

Injury Kyler Murray a gametime decision
Returned to practice Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 12, 1:09 pm

Arizona Cardinals
Kingsbury said it was good to have Kyler Murray back on the practice field, but he remains a game day decision. Asked if the Cards are considering giving him one more week to be careful, Kingsbury said all situations considered, but if Murray is ready to play, he will play. (Darren Urban on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Murray missed Week 9 with an ankle injury and the Cardinals will likely take it up to gametime with him this week. Rondale Moore (concussion) did practice Friday as well, while DeAndre Hopkins took a seat. We should get updates on all of these players late Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Injury Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins gametime decisions
Colt McCoy would start at quarterback if Murray can't go
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 4, 1:10 pm

Arizona Cardinals
1) Kyler Murray is indeed game-day decision. 2) So is DeAndre Hopkins. 3) No comment on J.J. Watt surgery but said Watt is “back in town.” 4) Rodney Hudson “trending the right way.” 5) DL Rashard Lawrence had a setback in practice earlier this week. (Darren Urban on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Both Murray (ankle) and Hopkins missed practice all week. Hopkins is known for not missing games but has obviously been limited recently by his hamstring injury. Colt McCoy would start at quarterback if Murray can't go. Hopefully we'll get more information on Murray's status over the weekend.
