Breakout year coming for Mecole Hardman?
Opportunity to be in the starting lineup Week 1
By: Mike Krueger | Jul 6 2021, 8:00 am

From the voluntary workouts and the team’s mandatory minicamp, Mecole Hardman, a third-year player, appears to be in position to have a breakout season, as he is expected to have the role previously held by Sammy Watkins. Hardman will enter camp as the second receiver on the depth chart. It’s possible that either Byron Pringle or Demarcus Robinson could push Hardman during camp, but I have more confidence in Hardman after he was a consistent performer in May and June. (The Athletic)

FFToday's Take: Beat writer Nate Taylor covers the Chiefs closely so his opinion is noteworthy. Hardman was a role player last season posting a 41-560-40 line in 16 games. The loss of Watkins gives him the opportunity to vault into a WR3 or Flex option for fantasy purposes and is worthy of a late-round gamble given his ties to the best quarterback in the game.
