Pittman has been an elite fantasy value this season on a surprisingly
efficient Colts offense. His 10 targets last week were the most
in any game this season, and he’s scored in three of the
first four games, as his size makes him a weekly redzone threat.
He won’t light the world on fire in PPR leagues, but the
juicy matchup against a weak, banged up Raider secondary should
make him an easy WR2 in most formats.
With Tyreek Hill gone for the year after his horrific knee injury
Monday night, Waddle steps up into the WR1 role for the Phins. Averaging
about six targets a game, Waddle should see an uptake in looks,
especially some of the deep shots vacated by Hill. The Panthers
had been stout against receivers this season, but just gave up a
6-101 line to Stefon Diggs in Week 4.
I’m going to be an absolute sell-out here, but this is
simply a squeaky wheel situation for Brown this week. After some
cryptic social media posts following the latest statistical dud,
Hurts and the Philly coaching staff are going to look to smooth
things over this week against Denver. This happens once or twice
a season with Brown, and hey, it can’t get much worse than
last week’s two catches for seven yards, right... right?
After a studly 7-143-1 line in Week 1, Flowers had few clunkers
against Cleveland, Detroit, and KC. I don’t see a path to
a bounce back in Week 5 with Cooper Rush in at QB, and the lockdown
Houston defense on deck. You can’t sit him because of the
electricity he plays the game with and all of the injuries flying
around, but I don’t have fuzzy feelings either.
After watching Jake Browning drive the struggle bus off the cliff
for the second week in a row, it’s blatantly obvious that
Chase and Higgins aren't nearly going to return the fantasy value
attributed to their draft slots. The line is horrible, and the
coaching staff doesn’t have the ability to scheme guys open.
They are throwing Browning out there like he's Burrow, and it’s
simply not going to work, especially against an aggressive Lion
defense. Sure, their secondary is banged up, and one of these
guys MIGHT hit a play, but hope isn’t a strategy. Don’t
expect much and take what you can get.
Preseason I was confident Ridley would be one of the best values
in fantasy by this point, but boy was I wrong. Ridley has struggled
to connect with his rookie QB, hauling in only 10 of his 24 targets,
has only topped 30 yards once and now seems to be banged up. This
team has got to get the running game going to take some pressure
off Ward, and give the passing game a chance. You just can’t
afford to start Ridley while they figure it out.
