2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
After being hobbled by a PCL injury for much of the 2016 season, Tyler Lockett disappointed fantasy owners by finishing with fewer than 600 receiving yards and just one total touchdown in his second season as a pro. To make matters worse, Lockett ended up breaking his leg in Week 16 and started training camp on the PUP list. He was removed from the PUP list on August 4th and has been participating in camp ever since.

While he has certainly had some big moments, including a breakout performance of seven receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown the week prior to breaking his leg, Lockett has not shown much consistency as a fantasy contributor. He's still just 24 years old, so there is plenty of room for him to continue to grow, but the fact that he's still expected to battle veteran Jermaine Kearse for snaps is not exactly a great sign for his potential fantasy production.

Many will simply look at Lockett's production in his sophomore season and write him off as a player who's not worth fantasy consideration because he did play in every game prior to breaking his leg, but those who dive deeper into the situation would realize that the speedster's game was drastically affected with the PCL injury. While nagging injuries are a cause for concern for players like Lockett, his current ADP is so low that he's practically free in most leagues. If he can get healthy, Lockett is certainly the kind of player who could put together some big games and substantially out-produce his ADP, especially in best-ball formats.

Seahawks ship WR Jermaine Kearse to Jets
Seattle lands DL Sheldon Richardson
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 1, 2:42 pm

New York Jets
The Seattle Seahawks' terrifying defense just hit the upgrade button. The Seahawks acquired defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson from the New York Jets in exchange for receiver Jermaine Kearse and a 2018 second-round pick, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported, per sources informed of the pact. The teams also swapped seventh-round selections in the deal. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: The Jets bolstered(?) their amazingly thin receiving corps with Kearse who should have a good chance at steady playing time. That being said, his fantasy value remains minimal given the sorry state of the Jets offense. Tyler Lockett Paul Richardson and Kasen Williams move up the depth chart in Seattle behind Doug Baldwin.

SEA WR Kasan Williams pushing for roster spot
Seattle receiver is tired of being on practice squad
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Aug 19, 8:00 am

Seattle Seahawks
Receiver Kasen Williams picked up right where he left off last week in the Seahawks win over the Chargers in their preseason opener - dominating defensive backs on a mission to prove that he deserves a spot on the 53-man roster. (Seattle Times)

FFToday's Take: With Paul Richardson and Tyler Lockett sitting out last night's preseason game, it allowed Williams an opportunity to impress coaches and he did just that. He's been on the practice squad the last two seasons but has turned heads through two pre-season games. He's capable of landing the 4th or 5th wide receiver spot in Seattle, which doesn't come with any re-draft league value but he's a name worth watching in dynasty leagues

Seahawks WR corps rounding into form
Paul Richardson emerging as No. 3 over Jermaine Kearse
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 8, 10:40 am

Seattle Seahawks
ESPN is reporting that Paul Richardson appears to be the No. 3 behind Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett (leg), and that this could be the best group of pass-catching weapons that Russell Wilson has ever had. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: The Seahawks' quarterback has showcased the diverse array of weapons at his disposal, including the speed of Lockett and Richardson and mismatches with guys like Graham and C.J. Prosise. Baldwin presents a problem for defenses operating out of the slot. This looks to be another good bet for fantasy production, and Wilson is a safe bet for solid numbers with plenty of upside.
