Rodgers, Freeman expected to split carries
Atlanta likely to be without Steven Jackson
By: Mike Krueger | Dec 26 2014, 8:15 pm

Rookie running back Devonta Freeman believes he’s ready to take over the rushing load if Steven Jackson does not play against the Carolina Panthers. Jacquizz Rodgers will likely get the bulk of the carries because he’s still considered a better pass protector. Also, Jerome Smith was added to the roster from the practice squad. He will be active and may play. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)

FFToday's Take: Steven Jackson (quad) is expected to miss Week 17. As a result, expect Rodgers and Freeman to be in a timeshare against the Panthers. Freeman's 4.0 rushing average and 7.9 receiving average suggest he has the better upside over Rodgers (3.5 - 5.9).
