St. Louis selects Isaiah Pead in 2nd round
The Rams found themselves a potential home run threat in Pead. He’s an explosive player who gets from 0-60 quickly and can create out of the backfield in the pass game as well. A perfect complement to Steven Jackson in St. Louis. (Yahoo Sports)

FF Today's Take: S-Jax will be 29 and in the twilight of his running back career when the season kicks off in September. While Jackson will still likely be the feature back this year, expect Pead to receive five to eight carries per game in 2012. He could even see a full workload should the veteran get injured.

Despite a rumor emerging that veteran RB wants more dough
The St. Louis Rams did their best to stamp out a rumor the day before the draft, saying running back Steven Jackson is not unhappy with his contract. The Rams also say they're not interested in trading the two-time Pro Bowler. Jackson is coming off his seventh straight 1,000-yard season, and has two years to go on a deal that'll pay him about $7 million in 2012. ''Steven's here, he's in the offseason program, he's upstairs every other day,'' coach Jeff Fisher said Wednesday. ''He's doing great, having fun, learning the offense.'' (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: If S-Jax wants more money it might be because he knows his days as a feature back are numbered. Jackson's grueling, physically-demanding style of play has surely taken its toll over eight draining years in St. Louis and the 28-year-old could take a steep decline in production at any time.
