Forte to get "plenty of rest" in 2016
Expected to serve as lead back in three-man rotation
By: Doug Orth | Jul 21 2016, 7:35 pm

The Jets see Matt Forte as their lead back, replacing Chris Ivory, but he is going to get plenty of rest in a rotation that includes Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson. The main question with Forte is how much tread he has left on the tire. Forte is now 30, which is seen by most as the point where running backs fall off the cliff. Forte is out to prove them wrong. Chan Gailey will come up with plenty of creative ways to get Forte the ball. Gailey loves to throw to running backs, and Forte is as good as it gets in that department. (New York Post)

FFToday's Take: Forte's ADP is at in the mid-to-late third round, so owners have already accounted for the likelihood Forte shows his age or shares too many touches. His ability to contribute in the passing game should allow him to remain very relevant, however, so owners should be able to expect RB2 numbers in PPR leagues barring injury. Powell should be considered Forte's handcuff and a player owners target in the middle-to-late rounds.
