2021 Outlook
Depth Chart
Toney posted 1145 total scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 games for the Gators in 2020, resulting in a first-round selection by the Giants front office. At 6-0, 193 lbs, Toney does not have the size of a prototypical No.1 WR like Kenny Golladay, but he makes up for his slight stature with elite speed and elusiveness.

The Giants will likely move him around the formation and design multiple bubble screens and quick passes to get him the ball in space. He will also likely lead the WR corps in rushing attempts and could see more than a few touch-passes similar to how the Chiefs use Tyreek Hill.

From a volume perspective, he could be anywhere from the second to the fifth on the team in targets, making him more of an upside player to target late in redraft.

Injury Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard miss practice Friday
Quad injury for both
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 26, 12:51 pm

New York Giants
WRs Kadarius Toney (quad) and Sterling Shepard (quad) not out during open portion of practice. Wouldn’t expect them to play Sunday vs Eagles. (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Shepard last played in Week 8 missing time with a quad injury. With Toney missing practice all week with the same injury it's looking like Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton as the top receivers for Daniel Jones against the Eagles. Given the poor offense, it's hard to trust Golladay as anything more than a Flex option.

Injury Sterling Shepard, Engram back at practice
Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay and RB Saquon Barkley work on the side
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 28, 12:27 pm

New York Giants
WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday. So did TE Evan Engram. Not looking good for WR Kadarius Toney (ankle), WR Kenny Golladay (knee) and RB Saquon Barkley (ankle). Did work on the side with trainers. #giants #MNF (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Giants play Monday night so all of their injured players get an extra day to heal. We should have a better idea of who will play on Saturday but it sounds like it will be at least one more week for Golladay, Toney and Barkely. The Giants have a Bye in Week 10.

Injury Giants rule out Barkley, Golladay and Toney
Shepard, Engram, Slayton all listed as Questionable
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 22, 1:39 pm

New York Giants
The #Giants ruled out 3 weapons with more questionable: - RB Saquon Barkley (ankle), WR Kenny Golladay (knee), WR Kadarius Toney (ankle) all out. - TE Evan Engram (calf), WR John Ross (hamstring), WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring), WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) all questionable. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Giants beat reporters believe that all of the Questionable players will play. Shepard will be a solid PPR WR2 against the Panthers. Evan Engram's best game of the season was a 4-55-0 line in Week 5 against Dallas.

Injury Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton practice on Wednesday
Should play in Week 6
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Oct 13, 11:37 am

New York Giants
The good news: WRs Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton practiced (below). I’m expecting them to play Sunday. Same for S Jabrill Peppers. All had hamstring injuries. LT Andrew Thomas (foot) and LG Matt Skura (leg?) were on the side during drills. (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Both Shepard and Slayton have missed the last two weeks with hamstring injuries. With Kenny Golladay (knee) likely out, expect Shepard, Slayton and rookie Kadarius Toney to be the starting wideouts against the Rams this week.

Injury Barkley week-to-week with sprained ankle
Giants ravaged by injuries in Week 5
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Oct 11, 9:01 am

New York Giants
The latest: Saquon Barkley - Ankle “sprain.” Likely couple weeks. More tests Monday. Kenny Golladay - Hyperextended knee. MRI Monday. Daniel Jones - Concussion. “In good spirits” after game. Flew home w/team. See how it goes this week. Tough dude. (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Giants were ravaged by injuries in Week 5 that saw Barkley and Jones get carted off. Devontae Booker filled in for Barkley and would be the presumed starter at running back next week against the Rams. He'll be a hot pickup on the waiver wire. Rookie Kadarius Toney saw 15 targets as he became the focal point of the passing game once Golladay left.

Injury Sterling Shephard, Darius Slayton out for Week 5
Hamstring injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 8, 2:41 pm

New York Giants
WRs Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton. G Ben Bredeson and S Jabrill Peppers are out Sunday against the #Cowboys. Starting LT Andrew Thomas (foot) is questionable. (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Once again, the Giants will roll with Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney and John Ross as their starting wide receivers. Golladay was very efficient with his 7 targets last week, catching six for 116 yards. Toney (6-78) projects to work more out of the slot against the Cowboys defense.

Injury Kadarius Toney could be in the slot for Week 4
Giants rookie set for expanded role with team's WR injury woes
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 28, 9:20 am

New York Giants
The Giants saw two of their top wide receivers, Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard, suffer hamstring injuries in Week 3, opening the door for more snaps from disgruntled rookie WR Kadarius Toney. Shepard primarily plays in the slot, so if he can’t play this Sunday in New Orleans, Toney might wind up stepping in. (NJ.com)

FFToday's Take: The Giants drafted Toney 20th overall this year, and he’s had a limited role so far -- so it won’t be an easy spot for him to break out. He played five and 19 snaps in the first two games, and then got 46 last week (66% of the action), as Shepard and Slayton both got hurt in the first half. Still, Toney had just three targets and hauled in 2-16-0s. For the season, he has five targets and 4-14-0 receiving, but might be worth a look as a deep league add or DFS punt play.
