Trevor Lawrence's rookie season in 2021 was an extreme disappointment. The No. 1 overall pick finished with more interceptions (17) than touchdowns (12) and was headed down the bust trail. Under the disaster that was Urban Meyer, the Jaguars tied for the least amount of wins (3) and earned the first overall pick in 2022.
For the first 12 games, Jacksonville's 4-8 record indicated their misery would very likely continue, but Lawrence stepped up in the final five games allowing Jacksonville to clinch the AFC South at 9-8. During that stretch, Lawrence threw for over 250 yards per game, eight touchdowns and was near the top of the league in quarterback rating (101.3). The man who was once treading into bust territory finished the regular season seventh in passes completed (387), eighth in passing touchdowns (25), ninth in passing yards (4,113), passer rating (95.2) and had the seventh-most fantasy points among all quarterbacks (ESPN scoring). For those that like stacking, the Jaguars are an excellent option as Lawrence threw over 750 receiving yards to three different pass catchers.
At the start of 2023, Lawrence is a QB1 in any fantasy league but probably towards the lower end of the top-10 quarterbacks. He's got some untapped rushing ability but it appears head coach Doug Pederson isn't going to let him get above the 400-yard mark. However, his weapons could make him shine bright by the midpoint of the season and the addition of Calvin Ridley should be a benefit to Lawrence's numbers.

Trevor Lawrence to start in Week 14? High ankle sprain By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 9, 11:01 pm

| | The Jacksonville Jaguars are planning for Trevor Lawrence to start Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, but need to work out the franchise quarterback in pregame warmups before making a final decision, sources told ESPN.
Lawrence will be just six days removed from a high ankle sprain -- an injury that typically sidelines players for multiple weeks, but it would be consistent for him to play considering that he always does. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: This seems like a bad idea, but Lawrence has come back quickly from injuries in the past. It's fair to wonder if his rushing ability will take a hit which would limit his fantasy upside. C.J. Beathard would get the start if Lawrence doesn't show enough during pre-game warmup.

| Trevor Lawrence diagnosed with high-ankle sprain HC not ruling him out for Week 14 yet By: Doug Orth | Tue Dec 5, 11:30 pm

| | Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is going to rehab around the clock this week to give himself a chance to play through his high ankle sprain, per sources. Too early to know how the ankle will respond and whether he’ll be available Sunday, but they aren’t ruling it out yet. (The Athletic - Jeff Howe)
FFToday's Take: As Patrick Mahomes showed us last year, quarterbacks can play through a high-ankle sprain. The difference here is that Mahomes was able to put some weight on his ankle later in the same game. Lawrence did not return. Fantasy managers would be wise to assume Lawrence will miss at least Week 14 and probably Week 15. If that ends up being the case, C.J. Beathard will the difficult task of keeping the Jaguars atop the AFC South while trying to solve the defenses of the Browns and Ravens.

| Trevor Lawrence a gametime decision in Week 7 Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 19, 9:24 am

| | Jaguars will work out quarterback Trevor Lawrence before tonight’s game to determine whether or not he can play versus the Saints with his knee sprain, per source. “It could easily be a game time decision,” source added. If Lawrence cannot play, C.J. Beathard would start. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It seems like Lawrence will be active tonight but Lawrence owners should pay attention to the Inactives 90 minutes before game time. The Saints have been stingy against quarterbacks allowing the 7th fewest fantasy points to the position.

| Trevor Lawrence may not able to play in Week 7 Dealing with slight knee sprain By: Doug Orth | Tue Oct 17, 1:00 pm

| | The status of #Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence for Thursday is in some doubt after a slight knee sprain on Sunday. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Lawrence was given a "DNP" on Monday's estimated practice report. C.J. Beathard is the next man up for Jacksonville. In the likely event Beathard gets the nod on a short week, the fantasy stock of Calvin Ridley and Christian Kirk would likely take a sizable hit in particular. Then again, the Jaguars' offense hasn't exactly played at a high level even with Lawrence healthy. Fantasy managers should be more excited about firing up the Saints DST than anything else if Lawrence sits.
