| Elijah Mitchell Out for Week 15, knee injury|
Swelling in the knee has not subsided
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 17, 4:56 pm
|Kyle Shanahan said the reason Elijah Mitchell won't play is due to his knee not his Dec. 5 concussion. He said the swelling in the knee has not subsided. (He also thought Mitchell could be cleared from the concussion protocol later today). (Matt Barrows on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: The 49ers will press forward with Jeff Wilson, Deebo Samuel and JaMycal Hasty at running back. Samuel's use in the running game in recent weeks has limited his pass routes and thus his fantasy ceiling. It also limits the ceiling of Wilson in this game against the Falcons.

Jeff Wilson expected to start at running back
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 10, 5:01 pm
|Deebo Samuel says his groin injury is playing out similarly to the issue he had in 2019. He missed one game that year, had three catches for 19 yards, two carries for 29 yards and a TD in the first game back. "I thought he had a real good week." -- Kyle Shanahan on Jeff Wilson, who's likely to start at RB for the 49ers. (Matt Barrows on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Elijah Mitchell (concussion, knee) has been ruled Out while Wilson was able to practice this week and is expected to start at running back. JaMycal Hasty will play too and likely handle some third-down work. The Bengals have given up the 8th most fantasy points to running back this season making Mitchell a solid RB2. Deebo's health should be monitored throughout the weekend. If he goes, he'll be a risky WR2.

Returned to Week 13 loss after brief exit

|RB Elijah Mitchell is in the concussion protocol, #49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said. He was cleared Sunday to go back in the game, but reported symptoms this morning. (NBCS Bay Area - Matt Maiocco)|
FFToday's Take: Mitchell was cleared to return to action a few minutes after he took a forearm or elbow to the left side of his head from Darrell Taylor near the end of the third quarter. He stayed on the ground for a few moments and went on to log five more touches in the fourth quarter. HC Kyle Shanahan also told reporters that Jeff Wilson had his knee flare up Sunday, which means the 49ers' top two backs will be question marks for Week 14 against the Bengals. JaMycal Hasty is the only healthy back on the roster right now.
| Deebo Samuel likely to miss next game or two|

WR Deebo Samuel (groin) -- It's a strain. Expected to miss 1-2 weeks. (ESPN - Nick Wagoner)|
FFToday's Take: This is pretty much the best-case scenario for Samuel, who has mostly been able to avoid or play through the injuries that hampered him so often in his first two seasons. Since Samuel was essentially working as the change-of-pace back for Elijah Mitchell in recent weeks, it is now fair to wonder if his touches will be given to Kyle Juszczyk, JaMycal Hasty (if he can shake his nagging ankle injury) or Jeff Wilson. Look for Juszczyk to see the most work among the non-Mitchell backs in Week 13 versus the Seahawks.

Finger injury for Mitchell

|#49ers injury report for Week 12 vs. Vikings:
OUT-RB JaMycal Hasty (ankle)
Doubtful-DL Maurice Hurst (calf)
Questionable-RB Elijah Mitchell (rib, finger) (Matt Maiocco on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Mitchell was able to practice on Friday which is key for him being active on Sunday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan did say that the team "will be able to protect Mitchell's broken finger". He'll likely be a gametime decision but it sounds like he's trending towards playing. Jeff Wilson will fill the lead back role if Mitchell sits.

OUT: RB JaMycal Hasty (ankle), DL Maurice Hurst (calf)
Doubtful: RB Elijah Mitchell (rib, finger)
*S Jaquiski Tartt, LB Dre Greenlaw likely could be activated off IR (Matt Maiocco on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: With Hasty ruled out, the 49ers will likely start Jeff Wilson and have Trey Sermon active as the backup. FB Kyle Juszczyk should also see an increased role in the passing game. Wilson becomes a solid RB2 option this week against the Jaguars who are middle of the pack (20th) against the run.
