2026 Outlook
Depth Chart
The Falcons have one of the league's best collection of skill position players, but the quarterback position has prevented this offense from reaching its peak potential over the last few years. The organization knows it, as evidenced by the team's desperate moves recently at the position. That desperation continues with Tua Tagovailoa as the presumed starter heading into the 2026 season. But Tua struggled mightily last year in Miami, and the team eventually benched him in favor of Quinn Ewers. Of the 14 games he played in 2025, Tua eclipsed 200 passing yards only six times. Also, in half of those 14 games, he passed for one or zero TDs.

As good as Miami's skill position players were, especially during Tua's career-best season of 2023, it didn't add up to much fantasy goodness. Much of that blame falls on Tua, whose lack of mobility, questionable long-ball skills, and concussion history all played a part in his struggles. The bad thing for him, the Falcons, and whoever possesses the courage to place him on their fantasy team is this: Those issues remain relevant in 2026. Tua will go undrafted in a number of leagues. He'll tantalize the fantasy football universe with a game or two of extraordinary production, but it won't be enough to make him a reliable starter. And Michael Penix Jr.'s eventual return will put an even bigger question mark on Tua's fantasy viability. Keep Tua on the waiver wire and hope he doesn't torpedo the studs that surround him.
