Following four seasons with the New England Patriots, Myers signed in Las Vegas during the offseason, reuniting him with his former offensive coordinator. During his time with the Pats, Myers averaged 59 receptions, 690 yards, and 2 TDs -- his struggles in the red zone were well documented entering 2022 as he had only a pair of scores on 168 career grabs, but he posted a half-dozen touchdowns on 67 catches a season ago to wipe away some of the stigma.
In essence, Meyers replaces Mack Hollins, whose 57-690-4 line put him second on the club in all three major receiving categories. His skill-set as a possession receiver feels a bit redundant to Hunter Renfrow, though at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, the former undrafted free agent will line up on the outside opposite Adams and figures to serve as the No. 2 target in the passing game. It'll be interesting to see if Meyers' output improves with Adams drawing coverage, or if going from the primary to a secondary read will chip away at it instead. Meyers could be targeted as a quality WR4.

Jimmy Garoppolo will start in Week 8 Back injury By: Mike Krueger | Sat Oct 28, 1:13 pm

| | #Raiders HC Josh McDaniels said QB Jimmy Garoppolo is good to go Monday. He said CB Jakorian Bennett and CB Nate Hobbs are trending in the right direction, too. K Daniel Carlson remains up in the air. (Tashan Reed on X)
FFToday's Take: Garoppolo missed last week with a back issue but has been practicing this week and should be out there Monday night against the Lions. That's good news for Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers in the passing game. The Lions have given up the 8th most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

| Jimmy Garoppolo clears concussion protocol Will start in Week 5 By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 6, 5:30 pm

| | Raiders’ QB Jimmy Garoppolo has cleared concussion protocol and is now expected to start Monday night vs. the Packers. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Raiders rolled out Aidan O'Connell last week against the Chargers to mixed results (24-39, 238-0-1). With Jimmy G back in the mix, that helps the outlook for the passing game including Jakobi Meyers. The Packers are middle-of-the-road against quarterbacks giving up the 19th most fantasy points to the position.

| Aidan O’Connell expected to start at QB for Raiders Rookie got most of first team reps By: Mike Krueger | Sun Oct 1, 7:00 am

| | With veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo out due to a concussion, Las Vegas has decided to start rookie fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell versus the Chargers, per sources. Raiders’ rookie QB Aidan O'Connell got the majority -- if not all -- of the first-team reps at practice by the end of the week. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Raiders will turn to rookie QB Aidan O'Connell who played reasonably well in the pre-season, leading all quarterbacks in passer rating. He gets the nod over veteran Brian Hoyer. How much this move affects Davante Adams remains to be seen but he and Jakobi Meyers are riskier plays with the QB rookie in the mix.

| Jimmy Garoppolo out for Week 4 Concussion By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 30, 6:15 pm

| | Raiders ruled out QB Jimmy Garoppolo for Sunday’s game at the Chargers due to the concussion he suffered vs. the Steelers. Garoppolo practiced in limited fashion Thursday and Friday, but was unable to clear protocol in time for Sunday and is not traveling to Los Angeles. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: With Garoppolo on the shelf, the Raiders will go with either rookie Aidan O'Connell or veteran QB Brian Hoyer at quarterback. Either way, this negatively affects the outlook of the entire offense and puts a wet blanket on the fantasy prospects of Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.

| Jakobi Meyers unlikely to play in Week 2, concussion Raiders WR still in concussion protocol By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 15, 10:59 am

| | #Raiders coach Josh McDaniels indicates that WR Jakobi Meyers (concussion) is doubtful to play this week. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Raiders used a lot of two TE sets in Week 1 with Davante Adams and Meyers operating out wide, but with Myers is still in the concussion protocol, the Raiders are likely to increase the opportunities for Hunter Renfrow who played just 22% of the snaps in Week 1. Still, you'll need a leap of faith to play Renfrow in your Flex spot.

| Jakobi Meyers dealing with concussion Posted nine catches in Las Vegas debut before exiting By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 11, 4:20 pm

| | Raiders’ WR Jakobi Meyers is in concussion protocol. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: Meyers was on the wrong end of a helmet-to-helmet collision late in the Raiders' win over the Broncos in Week 1. The former Patriot did more than enough for fantasy managers before leaving, however, finishing with nine catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns while Davante Adams dealt with Patrick Surtain II for most of the day. Adams will dominate targets more often than not moving forward, but this performance proves Meyers is a more-than-worthy flex option at worst. He should be considered a decent WR3 option next week against the Bills if he clears protocol in time.
