A journeyman in the truest sense of the word, Brissett will spend a second season with the same team for the first time since his four-year stint with the Colts, which ended in 2020. And why not? Brissett ran the offense better than the departed Kyler Murray did -- even though the Cardinals won just one of Brissett's 12 starts.
For fantasy owners, the veteran proved to be a savvy in-season addition, throwing for multiple scores in 10 of those dozen outings and averaging 281 yards per game. As you'd expect, Brissett kept Trey McBride fed, but he also showed tremendous chemistry with Michael Wilson, who was a complete nonfactor under Murray.
Despite his statistical success a season ago, Brissett enters 2026 with fringe fantasy appeal. Prior to last year, the 33-year-old had posted subpar numbers, and when the losses inevitably pile up in a division with the reigning Super Bowl champions, this year's Super Bowl favorites, and an always dangerous 49ers squad, what's the reason to keep trotting Brissett out there?
Maybe you can talk yourself into selecting Brissett in the final rounds to back up a strong QB1, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see Gardner Minshew and, eventually, Carson Beck get their turn in the starting role at some point.

Jacoby Brissett expected to report to minicamp this week QB wants a new contract By: Mike Krueger | Mon Jun 8, 7:06 am

| | Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett, who has skipped the team’s voluntary off-season workout program while seeking a better contract, will report to the team’s mandatory minicamp this week, per
@joshweinfuss and @JFowlerESPN. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Upon learning the Cardinals consider him the starting quarterback for the upcoming season, Brissett decided he wanted to restructure his two-year contract that he signed just over a year ago. It's been reported that the two sides aren't close to a deal. The Cardinals drafted QB Carson Beck back in April and also have Gardner Minshew on the rosters. We'll see how much activity Brissett participates in when Cardinals beginning practicing on Tuesday.

| Cardinals eyeing QB Ty Simpson in the NFL Draft? Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew currently on the roster By: Mike Krueger | Thu Apr 16, 10:28 pm

| | “There is a feeling around the league that the Cardinals certainly have some level of interest in Ty Simpson,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Similarly, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said, “I believe firmly (Simpson) is going to be a Cardinal." (AZCentral.com)
FFToday's Take: Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort spoke broadly about the quarterback position and the traits they look for in a rookie. With the Cardinals holding an early 2nd round pick (2.02), they could use that pick on Simpson or trade up into the backend of the first round. Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew are currently on the roster. “That's where we are right now,” Ossenfort said. “Is that how it looks going into training camp? I don't know. We'll see.”
