Entire Saints RB group placed on COVID-19 list Only Kamara tested positive, others are close contacts By: Mike Krueger | Sat Jan 2, 11:36 am

The entire Saints RB room won’t be available tomorrow bc of close contact to Alvin Kamara. Latavius Murry, Michael Burton, Dwayne Washington, RB coach all out tomorrow @NFLonFOX. They are moving Ty Montgomery to RB and calling up practice squad R.B (Jay Glazer on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: This isn't the same situation Denver faced with their quarterback room a few weeks ago but it's close. Ty Montgomery will be shifted to running back and the team is calling up Tony Jones Jr. from the practice squad. Taysom Hill is also capable of carrying the football. Montgomery is a consideration in DFS at the stone minimum on DraftKings.

Drew Brees will start for the Saints against KC Rib injury By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 18, 9:38 am

| |
Drew Brees will be the Saints’ starting QB Sunday vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, source tells ESPN. Saints believe he is fully healthy and doctors have cleared him to play. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Shefter goes on to say that Jameis Winston will be the backup quarterback with Taysom Hill playing his typical swiss army knife role. This move does help the fantasy floors of Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas and Jared Cook in what should be a high-scoring game against the Chiefs. Brees checks in as a solid QB2 with low-end QB1 upside.

Drew Brees remains without a timetable for return Eligible to return from IR after missing last three games By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 7, 6:45 pm

Sean Payton on Drew Brees status: “I honestly wouldn't be able to give you a time frame. He’s like a handful of the other guys that are down there working their tails off to get back healthy, 100% and we'll kind of see when that is.” (The Athletic - Katherine Terrell)
FFToday's Take: Brees can return this week, but it is anyone's guess how quickly a 41-year-old man can be expected to fully recover from 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The Saints are holding onto the No. 1 seed in the NFC with relative ease without him, going 3-0 with Taysom Hill under center. Fantasy owners of Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook would like to see Brees return sooner than later, but it appears they may have to wait at least one more week.

Taysom Hill to start at QB for Saints Winston not likely to play By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 20, 10:22 am

| |
Jameis Winston will not be part of any offensive packages Sunday vs. the Falcons, per @diannaESPN. The Saints’ QB now is Taysom Hill. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: This is huge news as Hill is TE eligible on some fantasy platforms including Fanduel. With Winston not expected to get any playing time, Hill is a viable streamer at the QB position given his rushing ability and great matchup against a Falcons defense that gives up the 2nd most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Rib contusion for Drew Brees Could miss some time By: Mike Krueger | Mon Nov 16, 9:47 am

| |
#Saints QB Drew Brees suffered a rib contusion in yesterday’s game, and he’ll have an MRI for cartilage damage today. But sources tell me and @TomPelissero that New Orleans is bracing for Brees to miss some time to fully heal. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Brees missed the second half of Week 10 which allowed Jameis Winston to get some run. Winston would be a viable streamer in Week 11 against the Falcons is Brees does sit. It's worth noting Taysom Hill got 8 carries yesterday. He could see his role increased if Brees sits.
