2019 Outlook
Depth Chart
It may surprise some fantasy owners to learn that Jordan Reed actually played in 13 games last season, just one fewer than the most games he has ever played in an NFL campaign.

Although the former elite fantasy tight end disappointed with just 54 catches for 558 yards and two touchdowns, he could end up being the best friend of rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins in what projects to be a terrible Washington offense.

The beauty of drafting Reed this season as opposed to years past is the fact that you will not need to spend much draft capital to land him, especially for those owners looking to stream the position anyway. Reed has the ability to finish as a top 12 TE, with top-five upside should he and Haskins connect in the red zone.

Injury Colt McCoy to start at QB for Redskins
Avoid all Washington players in Week 5
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 4, 1:41 pm

Washington Redskins
Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Colt McCoy will start at quarterback Sunday against New England. (John Keim on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Hopefully you're not in a position where you need to play the Redskins quarterback. In other news, WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) will be a gametime decision. Tight ends Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed will miss with concussions meaning Jeremy Sprinkle will likely start at tight end.

Hamstring injury

Washington Redskins
TE Jordan Reed And C Chase Roullier have been ruled out. WR Terry McLaurin and RG Brandon Scherff are questionable. Will be a game time decision for both. (John Keim on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: McLaurin came up lame on Thursday with a hamstring injury and didn't practice on Friday. This isn't good. Owners should have plan B in place. Paul Richardson and Trey Quinn would likely be the top wide receiver targets against the Giants if McLaurin can't go. Robert Davis would also see increased action.

Injury Jordan Reed out for Week 2
Missed practice Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 13, 1:00 pm

Washington Redskins
The Redskins will once again be without key players for a game. Tight end Jordan Reed was ruled out of Sunday's game vs. Dallas Cowboys with his concussion. Defensive end Jonathan Allen also was ruled out after suffering a Grade 1 knee sprain in the season opener. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Reed did more in practice this week but is still in the concussion protocol. He missed practice Friday. Vernon Davis will once again be a tight end streamer in a matchup against the Cowboys.

Injury Jordan Reed out for Week 1
Didn't make the trip to Philadelphia
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 7, 2:40 pm

Washington Redskins
Was told Jordan Reed did not make the trip to Philadelphia. (John Keim on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Reed suffered a brutal hit in the Redskins third pre-season game and remains in the concussion protocol. Vernon Davis will get the start but is more of a TE2 given the poor offensive situation in Washington and a tough matchup against the Eagles.

Injury No change in status for Jordan Reed
Remains in concussion protocol
By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 2, 4:30 pm

Washington Redskins
Jay Gruden says no update on Jordan Reed. Still in concussion protocol “so to speak” (NBC Sports Washington)

FFToday's Take: Reed has suffered seven documented concussions, so there is no guarantee he'll be ready this week or anytime soon. Desperate fantasy owners may want to pivot to proven backup Vernon Davis, although a Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles isn't the greatest.

Injury Jordan Reed expected to be ready Week 1
In concussion protocol
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Aug 27, 11:45 am

Washington Redskins
Redskins coach Jay Gruden said he expects tight end Jordan Reed to be available for the season opener at Philadelphia. Reed entered the concussion protocol after a hit in Thursday's preseason win at Atlanta. "We're quite confident that Jordan will be fine," Gruden said. That's good news for a team whose passing game revolves largely around Reed. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Reed suffered a vicious hit in the Redskins third pre-season game. Given his history of concussion, it's somewhat surprising Reed hasn't called it a career. The tight end has looked fresh in camp but comes with big red flag for injury risk.

Injury TE Jordan Reed being evaluated for concussion
Injured in Redskins third pre-season game
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Aug 22, 9:45 pm

Washington Redskins
Injury updates: Redskins TE Jordan Reed is being evaluated for a concussion and is out for the game ... #Packers rookie 1st round pick LB Rashan Gary has left the game with an unspecified injury. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Reed has a past history of concussions to go along with foot and toe issues so a firm diagnosis wouldn't be good. Reed has yet to play a full 16-game season and has scored only 4 TDs in his last 19 games.
