2020 Outlook
Depth Chart
So while I whiffed on Jackson in this column last season in an epic way, I did call out Ingram as a great value pick; and that he was! Bouncing back to have one of the best seasons of his nine-year career, Ingram set a career high in total touchdowns (15) while rushing for over 1,000 yards for the third time. Part of an unstoppable backfield, Ingram provided the stabilizing veteran presence on an offense surrounded by young dynamic talent. Unfortunately for Ingram's 2020 outlook, that talent got even more dynamic with the drafting of J.K Dobbins in the 2nd round of the draft.

Ingram's final 2019 numbers look great, but the 5 receiving touchdowns prop up an otherwise lackluster receiving game. This can be partly blamed by design as the offense was way down the list in pass attempts, but Ingram still did sputter at times last season. Two early season games against KC in Week 1 and Miami in Week 3 provided 50% of his total rushing touchdowns (5) and the lack of receptions really hurt in weeks he didn't score. There are only so many carries to go around and the presence of a rushing quarterback like Jackson and drafting of Dobbins are going to further eat into Ingram's touches. While an easy RB1 in standard leagues last season, I think Ingram has to be viewed more of a RB2 in 2020. I don't see Dobbins taking over as the majority starter this season, but Ingram is going to need to hold off the explosive rookie as long as possible. Even if another 1,000 season might be off the table, Ingram still offers double-digit touchdown potential and will be a solid complementary piece for your fantasy team.

News From The Past 90 Days
Ravens-Steelers game moved to Sunday afternoon
7 Ravens players have tested positive in 3 days
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Nov 25, 12:50 pm

Baltimore Ravens
The #Ravens-#Steelers game previously set for Thursday night is being postponed to Sunday afternoon. The first in several weeks. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: According to Rapoport, 7 players have tested positive in 3 days, including Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins. This move will give JuJu Smith-Schuster more team to heal his foot. Evn with the game pushed back to Sunday, it's still likely that Ingram and Dobbins will miss.

Injury Mark Ingram, J.K. Dobbins placed on COVID-19 list
Gus Edwards expected to start
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Nov 23, 2:47 pm

Baltimore Ravens
#Ravens RBs Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins have tested positive for COVID-19 and will be placed on the reserve list later today, according to sources. All aboard the Gus Bus for Thursday vs. the #Steelers. (Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It's looking like Gus Edwards will get the start for the Ravens on a short week. We could also see more of Justice Hill in a backup role. The Steelers represent a terrible matchup on paper but based on volume, Gus will be in the RB2 mix for Week 12.

Injury Mark Ingram misses practice Thursday
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 29, 2:22 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Ravens moved practice indoors because of rain. ESPN's @jamisonhensley served as pool reporter. Not practicing according to Hensley: RB Mark Ingram (ankle), CB Jimmy Smith (Achilles) and NT Brandon Williams (gets Thursday's off). Marlon Humphrey (illness) returned to practice. (Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ingram seems to be trending towards missing Week 8 against the Steelers which would leave Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins as the main running back options for the Ravens. The Steelers have given up the fewest fantasy points to running backs through seven weeks.

Injury Mark Ingram in doubt to play Week 8?
Sprained ankle in Week 6
By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 19, 8:15 pm

Baltimore Ravens
John Harbaugh believes RB Mark Ingram doesn't have a significant ankle injury and thinks he has a chance of playing against the Steelers on Nov. 1. (ESPN - Jamison Hensley)

FFToday's Take: The Ravens get a well-timed bye in Week 7, but Harbaugh's comments suggests he isn't overly optimistic Ingram is back in two weeks. It could be just the opening fantasy owners of J.K. Dobbins have been waiting for. While Gus Edwards did see more snaps than Dobbins in Week 6, it's hard to imagine a physical inside-the-tackles runner like Edwards will get much going against the Steelers. If Ingram sits, consider Dobbins a high-upside flex and Edwards a low-upside flex.

Injury Lamar Jackson misses practice for second straight day
Knee injury
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 8, 1:39 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (knee) is not practicing for a second straight day. Starting RG Tyre Phillips (shoulder) also sidelined for a second consecutive day. Other players not practicing: RB Mark Ingram, NT Brandon Williams (gets vet days on Thursday) (Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Adam Schefter commented yesterday that Jackson's knee injury wasn't considered serious. Perhaps we'll get more information from Harbaugh later today. Robert Griffin III would start if Jackson somehow can't play.

Ingram the starter, Dobbins to have significant role
Coach Harbaugh confirms role for rookie RB
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Sep 1, 12:19 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Mark Ingram remains the starting RB for Ravens, but coach John Harbaugh said rookie J.K. Dobbins is probably going to have "a significant role." "Confidence plus coachability plus talent, that’s a pretty good combination and he’s got all of that," Harbaugh said of Dobbins. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This is the scenario we've expected for the majority of the off-season. The run-heavy approach in Baltimore should lead both to have fantasy value as long as they remain healthy. Ingram checks in at RB24 while Dobbins checks in at RB32 in 12-team PPR leagues.
