| Tua Tagovailoa ready to leave Miami? QB would be "good" with a fresh start By: Doug Orth | Jan 5 2026, 9:00 pm

| Asked if he is hoping for a “fresh start,” Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa said, “That would be dope. I would be good with it.” (Palm Beach Post - Joe Schad)
FFToday's Take: On one hand, Tagovailoa is a player who led the league in passing in 2023 and completion percentage in 2024, so it is not as if he is a bum. On the other hand, he is coming off arguably the worst of his six seasons in the league and has benefited greatly from HC Mike McDaniel's offense over the years. Tagovailoa is not getting cut anytime soon - a release in 2026 would result in a dead money charge of almost $100 million - so it would be in his (and Miami's) best interest to continue the marriage for at least one more year. Still, it says a lot that Tagovailoa did not even try to dodge the question.
