Raheem Mostert atop the depth chart
Averaged 7.4 YPC over the last three games
By: Doug Orth | Dec 12 2019, 6:25 pm

HC Kyle Shanahan spelled out what had become evident over the last two games when he said Monday that Raheem Mostert had forced his way into a leading role by rushing for 608 yards and averaging 6.0 yards carry. Mostert could become the eighth running back since 1970 to average 6.0 yards on at least 100 carries in a season. “Raheem’s earned it over these last few weeks. ... I mean, we keep trying to balance it out, but what Raheem has done these last few weeks and has continued to do, we need to give him more opportunities. He’s given us no choice. ... He’s been extremely impressive,” Shanahan said. (San Francisco Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: Mostert has played 82 snaps and Tevin Coleman has 21 over the past two games, while Matt Breida was limited to 12 in his return from injury in Week 14. Mostert has scored four times and averaged 7.4 yards per carry over the last three games, essentially forcing Shanahan's hand. It is anyone's guess as to how long this will last, but owners are advised to take advantage of it as long as it lasts. Mostert should be considered a high-upside RB2 in Week 15 versus the Falcons.
