The Shot Caller's Report - WRs/TEs
Your Weekly Guide To Fantasy Lineups: Week 2
9/14/07
Positions: QBs | RBs | WRs/TEs

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

Must Start:

Reggie Brown v. WAS – Don’t let his poor stat line from last week scare you off. He is still the #1 receiver is a powerful offense. Expect McNabb and the team to get things rolling against the Redskins. They are too good not to.

Lee EvansLee Evans @ PIT – Here is another guy who disappointed Week One. He has a difficult job against the Steelers but also has the talent to get it done. The Bills are going to have to make Pittsburgh respect the deep ball if they want to give Lynch any room. A couple bombs to Evans should do the job nicely.

Chris Chambers v. DAL – He had a decent game against Washington and the Dallas defense didn’t exactly look impregnable last week. If Trent Green could get the ball more than 20 yards down the field it would certainly help. The fact that he is an upgrade over what Miami had at quarterback last year makes me feel for Chambers.

Bernard Berrian v KC – Chicago is going to have its way with the Chiefs all day. Considering the damage done by the Houston passing game against Kansas City, expect very good things from Berrian.

Joey Galloway v. NO – New Orleans is going to be out for blood and Tampa will not be able to stop them. Galloway will be able to get open enough times to make it worthwhile to start him this week as the Bucs try to keep up.

Grab Some Pine

Deion Branch @ ARI – I believe that receivers have to catch the ball occasionally to justify starting them. Zero catches from someone who is supposed to be the top receiving option on his team is inexcusable. Maybe it has something to do with Branch not being a real #1 guy. He never has done that job well and there is no reason to think this year will be any different. He just isn’t good enough to go up against the other team’s best cornerback. It is that simple.

Mark ClaytonMark Clayton v. NYJ – I saw his face on a milk carton this morning. More surprisingly, I recognized it. This means I spend way too much time thinking about fantasy football. Until he is found, he shouldn’t be anywhere near your lineup.

Jason Avant v. WAS – I was talking to a guy this morning who was excited about getting Avant in free agency. McNabb hitting a guy for 54 yards and a touchdown sometimes get people worked up. Philadelphia likes to spread the ball around, usually choosing a different receiver each week. The only worthwhile guy in that receiving corps is Reggie Brown. Avant has reached his peak for this fantasy season. Trade him while you can.

Plaxico Burress v. GB – It is tough to bench a guy like this. You spent a high pick on him and he delivered. But this week he goes up against the Packers defense and looks to be doing it with Jared Lorenzen trying to get him the ball. If you are counting on a 300- pound quarterback who threw his first NFL pass last week you are in serious trouble.

Vincent Jackson @ NE – I told you not to start him last week and I am saying it again. Sure, I might be ignored, but that is ok. I get to say, “I told you so” next week.
