Andre Johnson out 3-4 more weeks-- Mon May 21 6:15 pm -- Missing OTAs but has "no doubt" he'll be ready for camp
The Texans started OTAs on Monday, but WR Andre Johnson did not participate in practice.
Afterward, Johnson and Texans HC Gary Kubiak revealed that Johnson, who missed nine games with hamstring injuries last season, had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee two weeks ago. Johnson said he has “no doubt” he will be ready for training camp in late July.(houstontexans.com)
FF Today's Take:Johnson feels that he'll be "ready to go" in 3-4 weeks and that he is not experiencing issues with any of his other previous injuries. Even though Johnson has missed 12 combined games over the past two seasons, he should still be one of the first wide receivers drafted in fantasy football leagues this year, even if he comes with obvious risk based on his injury history.
Schaub to be ready for training camp-- Fri May 11 7:40 pm -- Texans treating their QB's injury with caution
While Matt Schaub said he would be "100 percent ready to go" in time for training camp, his coach said the Houston Texans' star quarterback won't be going full speed before then. Schaub is recovering from a surgery several months ago to repair a Lisfranc injury in his right foot and a follow-up procedure that took place in April. Schaub said he didn't doubt he would be ready and that his recovery is right on schedule.(NFL.com)
FF Today's Take:Arian Foster and Andre Johnson are studs but they're not the only Texans that can help win you your fantasy pool. Though not held in the same esteem as the Brady's, Brees', Rodgers' and Manning's of the NFL, Schaub has been a reliable fantasy producer for years and - as long as he's healthy - should be good for another 4000 passing yard, 20-plus touchdown season.
