|Maturity not talent has been the barrier to Donte Moncriefís development as a pro. After seeing his role increase in each of his first two years in the NFL, Moncrief is expected to enter the year as the starter opposite T.Y. Hilton. His lightning fast start to the 2015 season included five touchdowns in seven games and put the league and Andre Johnson on notice. He will enter training camp recovering from surgery to alleviate turf toe but is already running and making cuts as he heads into training camp. Assuming he continues to recover without any setbacks and shows a nice chemistry with his quarterback, there isnít any reason that Moncrief canít earn a profit as a middle of the draft investment that performs like a top 50 player more often than not.
| Donte Moncrief out 4-6 weeks|
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 21, 11:50 am
|Colts receiver Donte Moncrief has a fractured scapula in his left shoulder and will be out four to six weeks, coach Chuck Pagano announced Wednesday. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Moncrief was a nice target in fantasy drafts this summer and was headed for a breakout season as the No.2 receiver in the Colts offense. Phillip Dorsett will move up into Moncrief's role with Quan Bray receiving more opportunities. Dorsett is on the WR2 radar against the Chargers in Week 2.
| Donte Moncrief to have MRI on shoulder|
Didn't play in second half

|Colts WR Donte Moncrief scheduled to undergo MRI today on his shoulder, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Moncrief went to the sidelines after taking a big hit in the second quarter. He never returned. The Colts passing game was predictably mediocre against the Broncos on Sunday. If Moncrief is out for any length of time, Phillip Dorsett would see an increase in targets.
|Moncrief could be Luck's new Reggie Wayne|
Potential dark-horse candidate to lead Colts in catches
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 18, 5:20 pm
|The Colts have been looking for a possession receiver ever since Reggie Wayne tore his ACL in Week 7 of the 2013 season. Donte Moncrief has the size at 6-foot-2 to get space against defensive backs and the speed to get open. Moncrief may not lead the Colts in receiving yards or yards per catch this season, but it won't be surprising if he leads them in receptions, because he'll be the receiver Luck turns to when a play breaks down. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Roughly half of Mike Wells' reasoning is flawed, as Moncrief isn't exactly a "possession receiver" or comparable to an aging Wayne. Moncrief also isn't Luck's go-to guy; that honor belongs to T.Y. Hilton. With all of that said, Moncrief brings much-needed size to the Colts' receiving corps and is the most likely candidate to see a huge uptick in targets following the loss of 200-plus targets in the offseason. He's a strong WR2 and should be a target for RB-RB drafters.
|T.Y. Hilton impressive in training camp|
Luck: "Probably the best player on the field"
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 11, 3:35 pm
|Andrew Luck says the consistency of T.Y. Hilton was impressive all camp. "Probably the best player on the field." (Kevin Bowen on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Like Donte Moncrief and Phillip Dorsett (to a lesser extent), Hilton is set up for a boatload of targets as the Colts try to fill the 200-plus targets left behind by the departures of player such as Coby Fleener and Andre Johnson. Owners need to be aware of Hilton's propensity to play up (or down) to his indoor/outdoor and home/road splits, but if his game is taking the next step, perhaps he'll level out those splits a bit. He's on the WR1/WR2 borderline in most leagues.
