Forte not present at voluntary workout
"I've always been there especially when it counts!”

Amid the buzz associated with the new regime at Halas Hall, Bears running back Matt Forte was conspicuously absent Monday for the beginning of the voluntary offseason program. Sources said Forte let it be known he would not be in attendance. The 29-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and has expressed a desire for an extension. (Chicago Tribune)

FFToday's Take: For what it's worth, Forte tweeted: “Relax everybody.” “It's called voluntary W/O for a reason. I've always been there especially when it counts!” He's scheduled to make $8.2 million this season and it's likely the Bears aren't excited about giving a 29-year-old running back a lengthy contract extension. Expect Forte to be present for the Bears' mandatory minicamp in mid-June.
