Chris Johnson to undergo knee surgery Torn meniscus; expected to recover in a month By: Doug Orth | Jan 27 2014, 5:25 pm
Titans RB Chris Johnson is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. Johnson called the procedure “minor” and the recovery time is expected to be roughly a month.
“It’s nothing major,” Johnson said. “People don’t know I been playing with it since Week 3 of the season.”
Johnson rushed for 1,077 yards and six touchdowns in 2013. (The Tennessean)
FFToday's Take:Johnson's durability has been underrated for some time because his performance has become so inconsistent in recent years. With a scheduled base salary of $8 million in 2014, there's a strong chance he has played his last snap with the Titans after telling The Tennessean last month he has no plans to take a pay cut. That would leave Shonn Greene and a likely draft pick/free agent to serve as the team's main ballcarriers in 2014.
