Redskins believe Alex Smith will miss 2019
Smith faces long rehab process from broken leg
By: Mike Krueger | Jan 27 2019, 12:54 pm

One storyline to follow for 2019: The #Redskins are planning as if they won’t have QB Alex Smith next season, sources say. They believe he’ll miss the entire season with his broken leg issues and are acting accordingly. If he’s ready, they will be pleasantly surprised. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Smith broke his leg on November 18th, 2018 suffering both compound and spiral fractures. He had to endure multiple surgeries due to infection so it's no surprise his 2019 season will likely be lost. The Redskins will need to rethink their quarterback approach and will likely target a veteran in free agency. They have also have the 15th pick in the upcoming draft.
