Denver to use 'heavy dose' of Devontae Booker?
Local paper suggests Booker has secured meaningful role
By: Doug Orth | Jun 11 2018, 7:30 pm

C.J. Anderson‘s departure to Carolina opens up plenty of carries in a backfield that should feature a heavy dose of Devontae Booker and a yet-to-be-determined second option. The Broncos added two rushers in the draft (Royce Freeman and David Williams), plus Phillip Lindsay as an undrafted free agent from Colorado. Second-year Bronco De’Angelo Henderson will also be in the mix. (The Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: OC Bill Musgrave talked recently about how this year's offense will be drastically different than last year's. While it is quite possible Booker will begin the season as the 1A back to another player's 1B (likely Freeman), the third-year back hasn't done enough with his few chances to have anything locked up. Freeman should still be considered the favorite to emerge from this backfield and be no worse than a serviceable flex option for the bulk of the season.
