Pats ship Brandin Cooks to Rams
New England gets first round pick, No. 23 overall
By: Mike Krueger | Apr 3 2018, 5:49 pm

Patriots are trading WR Brandin Cooks and a fourth-round pick to LA Rams for the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and a sixth-round pick, league sources told ESPN. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Rams have certainly made a splash this off-season acquiring DBs Marcus Peters, Aquib Talib, DL Ndamukong Suh and now Cooks who will replace Sammy Watkins in the offense. This move gives the Patriots two first-round picks in the upcoming draft (No.23 and No.31). Cooks finished 9th in standard scoring and 14th in PPR scoring among wide receivers in 2017. The Patriots had 69 more pass attempts than the Rams so it may be difficult for Cooks to repeat his low-end WR1 stats from last season.
