Lions release TE Eric Ebron Perennial TE2 will get a fresh start By: Mike Krueger | Mar 14 2018, 3:40 pm
Unable to trade him and unwilling to pay his $8.25 million salary, the Detroit Lions have released tight end Eric Ebron.
The No. 10 pick of the 2014 draft, Ebron was a disappointment in his four NFL seasons.
He averaged just 46.5 catches per season and split time at the position with Darren Fells last year. (Detroit Free Press)
FFToday's Take:Ebron has been a TE2 since 2015 posting roughly 82 fantasy points per season in standard scoring leagues. Plagued by drops in college and the NFL, Ebron had a difficult time in Detroit but should resurface soon given his athletic ability and youth.
