2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
I tabbed Ebron as a streaming or bye week option heading in the 2015 season, and I was pretty close, as he finished 13th overall among tight ends and finished his second year with a 47-537-5 line, solid numbers for a 22-year old player. Although he made too many mental and physical errors, and has yet to play up to his high draft selection, 2016 is a big year for Ebron. The Lions desperately need him to help fill the void left by Calvin Johnson, and Ebron has the physical stature to do the job. The former Tar Heel doubled his stat line from his rookie year to year 2, and I expect this progression to continue. His production is nearly identical to that of Vernon Davis, a player whose game and draft position mirror Ebron’s. It took Davis until his fourth year to break out and join the ranks of the elite, but I think Ebron could get there this season. If he can keep his head on straight and stop dropping catchable passes, Ebron has the talent and situation to jump into the top 5 at his position.

Injury Not looking good for Marvin Jones
Expected to sit with thigh injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Dec 4, 8:15 am

Detroit Lions
Lions WR Marvin Jones (thigh) is a long-shot to play vs. Saints, source said. Promoting WR TJ Jones from the practice squad spoke to that (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: WR T.J. Jones has been called up from the practice squad giving an indication that Marvin will be on the Inactive list today. If he sits, expect Golden Tate, Eric Ebron, Theo Riddick and Anquan Boldin to receive the most targets from Matthew Stafford against the Saints.

Injury Trio of Lions expected to play Week 8
Riddick, Washington and Ebron all nursing lower-body injuries
By: Doug Orth | Thu Oct 27, 6:45 pm

Detroit Lions
Theo Riddick (ankle), Eric Ebron (ankle, knee), Dwayne Washington (ankle) all expected to play Sunday vs the Texans. (James Palmer on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Riddick's return should put Golden Tate's resurgence to the test, as the former was stealing many of the short passes that are the latter's bread-and-butter. Ebron is a high-upside TE2 but should be ignored this week against a defense that has shut down tight ends all season long. Washington should take over the early-down role Zach Zenner has occupied of late, and he could be a serviceable flex considering Houston's recent woes stopping the run.

Injury Theo Riddick ruled out
Dwayne Washington and Justin Forsett next up
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 14, 4:00 pm

Detroit Lions
Lions RB Theo Riddick out Sunday. Justin Forsett could get quick work in Detroit. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Riddick missed practice all week with an ankle injury. It's a big loss for Matthew Stafford and the passing game that will also be without Eric Ebron. Expect Dwayne Washington (questionable) and newly signed Justin Forsett to share backfield duties. Neither are recommended fantasy options.

Injury Eric Ebron likely out Sunday
Did not practice Wednesday
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Oct 5, 6:17 pm

Detroit Lions
ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron is not expected to play this upcoming Sunday against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles after suffering injuries to his knee and ankle against the Chicago Bears this past Sunday, a source told ESPN Insider Adam Caplan. Ebron briefly left Sunday's game against the Bears, but he returned and was able to finish the game. He did not practice Wednesday, and he was not spotted at all during the open portion of practice. (ESPN.com)

FFToday's Take: Ebron came into the year nursing an apparent ankle injury suffered in early August. Whether he tweaked that same injury or is dealing with something new, it looks like the Lions may choose to let him rest rather than continue to play through his maladies. Detroit lacks a capable backup for fantasy owners to consider as Cole Wick is the only other tight end on the Lions roster with at least one target this season.

Injury Marvin Jones shows up on injury report
Limited practice; hamstring injury
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 29, 7:50 pm

Detroit Lions
Marvin Jones is on Thursday’s injury report as a limited participant in practice after not being on the report at all after Wednesday’s practice. That suggests that Jones may have come down with the injury during practice and will make Friday’s practice one to watch for a better idea about how much the hamstring might affect him against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: The WR1 after three weeks, Jones will need to get a full practice in on Friday in order to quell fears of him missing time against the Bears in Week 4. If he is forced to sit out, Anquan Boldin and Golden Tate become much better fantasy options against Chicago's shell of a defense, while Eric Ebron could also be nearing must-start territory as well.
