| DeVante Parker builds on spring hype WR "blows up" on first day of camp By: Doug Orth | Jul 22 2017, 5:25 pm
| DeVante Parker, starting his third season, had an outstanding spring that suggested this is going to be a breakout season. And this first practice did nothing to change that hope. Parker caught two passes, including one in the end zone in which he simply posted up a defender, made himself big, and snatched Ryan Tannehill’s pass from 11 yards out.
“I think he was looking to not ease into camp,” Gase said. “When I saw him last night, I could tell he was ready to get after it.” (Miami Herald)
FFToday's Take: The hype train for Parker this year hasn't even close to hitting a bump. With that said, the third-year receiver has reportedly been doing all the right things during the spring and summer - eating right, getting proper rest, etc. - that he wasn't doing before and focused on developing lower-body strength to avoid the injuries that plagued him in 2015 and 2016. Even in what figures to be a run-oriented offense, Parker is a prime candidate to break out this season.
