| Amari Cooper "excellent" in spring practices "Clear growth" between second-year WR and QB Derek Carr By: Doug Orth | Jun 27 2016, 6:00 pm
| WR Amari Cooper received praise for his performance during the Raiders offseason program. The second-year receiver was excellent in practices open to the press, working in precision with QB Derek Carr. There’s clearly growth between passer and receiver, but Cooper himself has a spring in his step. He’s confident, comfortable with the Raiders and his place in the NFL.
“I’m a lot more comfortable. I feel like I have a great feel of what it’s like to be a pro. I like my progress so far,” Cooper said. (CSN Bay Area)
FFToday's Take: Cooper committed 20 drops per Pro Football Focus and battled through a foot injury that nearly landed him on injured reserve, but those issues were about the only negatives during what was a stellar rookie season. While Michael Crabtree will remain a key part of the passing attack, Cooper is an excellent bet to build upon his 72-1,070-6 line in 2015 and should be considered a low-end WR1 in most leagues.
