With Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker departing via free agency, the Seahawks used the final pick of the first round on Price. It's an interesting selection, and one undoubtedly made from need with Walker gone and Zach Charbonnet (knee) likely to miss significant time in 2026. Price is unique in that he was never a starter in college, backing up No. 3 overall pick Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, but was viewed by most as the second-best back in a weak class. Price has the size and speed to deliver at the NFL level, though he'll need to clean up his issues with ball security.
While it's tempting to project Price as RB1 in Seattle, don't expect him to garner heavy usage right out of the gate. Instead, he's likely to be part of a committee with newcomer Emanuel Wilson, who did some good things when given a chance in Green Bay, and third-year man George Holani, who could chip in on obvious passing downs. Things will evolve whenever Charbonnet returns, which adds another wrinkle into projecting Price's value for 2026. The safe choice is to view Price as an RB3/flex type and draft accordingly as his ceiling may not be as high as it appears now. The rookie is worth selecting, but only if the price is right.

Jadarian Price will not play vs. Chargers Reportedly aggravated chest injury in practice this week By: Doug Orth | Sat Oct 3, 2:30 am

| | The Seahawks ruled out RB Jadarian Price for their game Sunday against the Chargers. Mike Macdonald said he re-aggravated his chest injury on Wednesday.
George Holani and Emanuel Wilson are the next options in Seattle’s backfield. (ESPN.com - Brady Henderson)
FFToday's Take: It was less than a month ago that Price dazzled in his debut against the Patriots. Now, his fantasy managers have to wonder if they can start him again anytime soon, as Zach Charbonnet (knee) is expected back sometime this month. Wilson immediately moves into the flex conversation - if not low-end RB2 given the rash of injuries at the running back position across the league last week - in what should be a positive game script for Seattle. Holani is worth stashing in deeper leagues.

| Nothing serious on Jadarian Price's shoulder injury Seattle RB left early in Week 2 By: Mike Krueger | Mon Sep 21, 1:16 pm

| | Seahawks RB Jadarian Price left the game yesterday with what was was announced as a chest injury. Mike Macdonald told
@BrockHuard and @TheMikeSalk that it's actually a shoulder issue, but he said "it’s intact and nothing serious, it seems like." (Brady Henderson on X)
FFToday's Take: Price (13-52-0, 1-8-0) left in the 2nd half with a chest / shoulder injury which allowed Emanuel Wilson to accumulate 21 touches (all carries) while George Holani largely played on passing downs. We'll see how much practice time he gets this week. The Seahawks face the Commanders in Week 3

| Seattle HC talks up Jadarian Price Beat writer predicts "heavy dose" of George Holani By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 31, 11:55 pm

| | Rookie Jadarian Price is ready to lead the Seattle Seahawks' backfield while it waits for Zach Charbonnet to return. Or at least as ready as he can be. Except for the week he missed with a minor injury, Price has had a strong summer, displaying the vision, decisiveness and athleticism that made him the Seahawks' choice with the 32nd pick in April's draft. He has looked as good as advertised -- and in some ways better.
"He's done a great job. He really has -- all three downs," coach Mike Macdonald said last week. "He's a rookie in terms of, there's going to be things that we're going to attack in his game that will show itself in games. We haven't been afforded the luxury of having the bodies right now at running back to give him the reps in a [preseason] game that we would normally give to a rookie runner."
The best guess is that the Seahawks are planning, for now, to roll with Price as their lead back while mixing in a heavy dose of George Holani, whose receiving and pass-blocking skills seem perfectly suited for third-down work.
(ESPN.com - Brady Henderson)
FFToday's Take: There is something off about this situation, if only because coaches talk about the importance of reps for rookies and still end up questioning if it was enough. Could Macdonald have seen enough from Price in practice? Unlikely. Fantasy managers should expect Price to lead this backfield while Charbonnet is away, but they need to understand what Henderson is saying about Holani's likely role - which is some of the most important work for a running back from a fantasy perspective. It would be shocking if Seattle asked Price to protect Sam Darnold's blind side without actually proving he can in a game. As such, expect to see a lot of Holani in September.

| Zach Charbonnet placed on PUP list to start the season Will miss at least the first four games By: Mike Krueger | Sun Aug 30, 6:53 pm

| | The Seahawks just announced the moves they made today to trim their roster to 53. A couple things of note: RB Zach Charbonnet will begin the season on PUP, meaning he has to miss at least the first four games. S Nick Emmanwori is on the 53. (Brady Henderson on X)
FFToday's Take: Charbonnet will miss at least the first four games of the season as he recovers from an ACL injury. We're expecting rookie Jadarian Price and George Holani to get most of the running back work Week 1 against the Patriots with Emanuel Wilson serving as the No.3 back.

| Seattle places RB Zach Charbonnet on PUP list, knee Recovering from off-season knee surgery By: Mike Krueger | Wed Jul 22, 12:47 pm

| | Seahawks placed RB Zach Charbonnet on the physically unable to perform list as he continues to make his way back from offseason knee surgery. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: We knew this was coming for Charbonnet who injured his knee in mid-January. He's expected to miss camp and likely at least the first four regular season games and potentially return late in the season. In the meantime rookie Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson are expected to get the work at running back with Price being biggest fantasy asset of the bunch.
