Rookie Carnell Tate enters the 2026 fantasy campaign as perhaps the most hyped first-year wide receiver this season. The skills he displayed at Ohio State -- elite route running, contested-catch ability, and reliable hands -- translate well to the NFL and make him a tantalizing fantasy prospect. Tate is a big-bodied receiver who won't outrun many NFL defensive backs, but his polished skill set should help him develop into a top-tier receiver.
Like the rest of Tennessee's skill players, Tate's production will depend heavily on Cam Ward's development. If Ward makes the expected Year 2 leap, Tate should be the primary beneficiary. Early reports out of Titans training camp have been encouraging, as he has already developed a strong connection with Ward. As with most rookie receivers, however, a slow start remains a possibility. Wan'Dale Robinson and Calvin Ridley will also command their share of targets, which could limit Tate's production early in the season. Even so, a rookie campaign of 70 catches, 900 receiving yards, and six touchdowns is well within reach -- a stat line that would make him a low-end WR2/high-end WR3.
